Mort's Meanderings:
The Great Depression is no longer singularly defined by what occurred after Wall Street collapsed in 1929.
The latest version of the Great Depression is what has occurred as a result of the unfortunate election of Barack Hussein Obama.
In human terms, this latest Great Depression has taken the form of a belated awakening of that 53% of Americans (or a great majority of them) who voted-in this disastrous Socialist ideologue and his retinue of America-hating, lunatic bunglers and elitist pretenders.
Talk about your 'great depression'. Talk about 'voter's remorse'.
It is the sacred duty of every eligible voter in these United States to get off the couch and get to the polls on November 2nd. It is up to each of us who love this nation as it has evolved for all the years prior to the most recent election, to vote out this disgusting batch of misguided miscreants in the Administration and those proven-corrupt members of this Congress.
There is a tidal wave of new candidates who have bravely decided to stand for election to public office, people who espouse conservative principles. Let's vote them into office, give them the opportunity to represent us - and dedicate ourselves to monitoring their actions, closely.
It is the absolute truth: We get the government we deserve.
So, it is up to each of us to prove that we deserve better - to demand better - and to become personally involved to assure that we really do deserve and we really do get, better government.

A PENNY SAVED IS A PENNY SPENT
Yeah, I know the olde Ben Franklin quote is, “A penny saved is a penny earned”, but we are in the “Age of Obama” where the word “saved” is seldom used and only the word “spend” is the acceptable word to use in the White House and the halls of
Congress. Think of all the money that has been wasted in the grand attempt to jump start this devastating recession we've been in, and this is only the beginning. The “Anointed One's” policies are just starting to kick in and the worst is yet to come. Friends, this combo of Frick and Frack (Obama and Biden) are after your wallets and pocketbooks - the “Pied Pipers of Cluelessness” are coming after you with a vengeance, especially if you earn over $200,000 per year. He wants to punish you for being successful, how does that grab you? I'll now be accused of spreading fear, but is it fear or just plain commonsense coming to the fore to explain the destructive policies of this, the most profligate spending Administration in Wash. D.C. history?
It seems that “throwing” money at a problem is what the incompetent President and his Administration are wont to do. It doesn't matter to them whether previous attempts at throwing money at a problem worked or not. I guess if you don't know the
difference between an asset and a liability, like most all the people in the Obama Administration, you'll make those kind of mistakes. Remember, only 8% of the people in his Administration (Obama has 0%) have had any meaningful, hands-on business experience whatsoever. As I said in a previous editorial, the “Peter Principle” is
alive and well in the White House and among the many “lemming” liberals in Congress.
You'll have to admit Obama and his cronies talk a good ballgame, saying all the things that they think you want to hear. I, for one, am allergic to B.S., and every time I see Obama and Biden pontificating over our “Summer of Recovery”, I break out in a rash. How can these legal “wizards” (they are both non-practicing lawyers) say the nonsense they do and keep a straight face? And we thought Reagan was a “B” actor, these guys have him beat by a mile, and we're still counting..
But, you can only B.S. the public for so long. After almost two years, the people have Obama and Biden pegged as governing bunglers (with the exception of the liberal Kool-Aid drinkers who still think these two Keystone Kops are the greatest). It shows you where their heads are at. The voters are poised to take it out on the Democrat incumbent Congressmen and Senators this coming November. A political “bloodbath” is in the works. Once we pry the money spigot away from Obama and the liberals, we'll be able to somewhat control the “evil” policies they want to shove down our throats again, and in the process, bankrupt our country.
If that happens, old Ben Franklin's saying of, “A penny saved is a penny earned” will have the same meaningful definition it once had before Obama and his henchmen took over. Now, let's go do the right thing.

VFW PAC Endorsement
From: MORT KUFF - Registered resident of Florida and U.S.Navy vet - 1944-1946.
To: Col. Lee F. Kichen (U.S.Army Retired)
Re: VFW PAC endorsement of Ron Klein (Dist.22 Florida)
Dear Col. Kichen.
No one could be more outraged at the endorsement of Ron Klein by the VFW PAC, than I am. The singular, ill-advised action of this veterans organization cannot be justified by either Klein's inappropriate assignment to a committee whose actions affect this nation's veterans or by his voting record since sitting on that committee.
Klein, who never wore the uniform and never served in any branch of the U.S. Military Armed Forces, is just about the last person imaginable to be assigned to a House Veterans Committee because of his total lack of related experience, his absence of aptitude or his lack of pertinent qualifications.
His assignment to that position by Speaker Nancy Pelosi was all about the internal Democrat politics of the U.S. House of Representatives and nothing whatever to do with the condition or welfare of the Dept. of Veterans Affairs.
For the VFW PAC to endorse this candidate over retired LTC. Allen West, a decorated career officer in the U.S. Army, with 22 years active service that includes commanding troops in shooting wars on foreign battlefields, is simply unconscionable.
There must have been some behind the scenes shenanigans for this endorsement to have been perpetrated on the rank and file members of VFW. I've attended VFW meetings here in Florida and from the standing ovations that I have witnessed when LTC. West is welcomed each time he has appeared, I can attest to the universal regard and affection in which this man is held by local VFW members.
The VFW PAC would do well to re-think this egregious error and take remedial action, before they embarrass their fine organization in front of this nation.
Sincerely,
MORT KUFF

Do Liberals Have a False Ego Problem?
Liberals think they are better than most Americans because, according to them, they care more deeply about the environment, minorities, and human rights, when in fact, they really only care about themselves.
To listen to the liberals, anybody who opposes their agenda is stupid, a nut-job, a racist, a Nazi or a Fascist, or a milder slur like being called an idiot etc. The main reason, I conclude, is that they really can't debate or justify their policies in a rational manner, therefore, they must minimalize their opponents by calling them vile names and by making untrue statements to try to put the opposition in a bad light by verbally assaulting them personally, thereby making them less credible in the eyes of the public, or so they think.
A good example of this tactic is in regards to “profiling”. When Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law to enforce the immigration law to help them stem the flow of illegal aliens swarming over the border of Arizona, they immediately called the law “racial profiling”, even though the law specifically stated that law enforcement officials could not “profile” people unless they were stopped for committing another infraction. The Democrats didn't care, even though most of them didn't even read the law, including the Attorney General of the United States, they in their infinite wisdom believed that the law was what they said it was, “racial profiling”. These same sanctimonious hypocrites engaged in real “racial profiling” by labeling all the Tea Party protesters as white racists, anarchists, bigots, Nazi's, and local yokels and rednecks. According to them, if you attended or sympathized with the Tea Party protests, you fit their profile and were eligible to be called one of those vile epithets. If that isn't “profiling”, than I don't know what it is? Only people with a false ego could make the jump to that erroneous conclusion.
Another example of where their ego gets in the way of rational decisions, is in the way they proceed to implement their pseudo- Socialist agenda. Poll after poll has shown that the American people did not want the ObamaCare bill, but they shoved it down our throats anyway. In their self- aggrandizing way, they knew better than anyone else and it was just the stupidity of the people that influenced those poll numbers. The same is true with the other initiatives that the people have said they DON'T want such as, the Cap and Trade (Tax) Climate bill, the Card Check bill, which would do away with “secret ballot” elections in union representation elections, and by the letting of the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of the year.
Only someone with a narcissistic personality and an inflated ego would impose his will over the common sensibilities of the American people and go against their wishes.
So the answer to the beginning question is “YES”, the Democrats and our President do have a false ego problem that might only be cured by a massive defeat of them at the polls on November 2nd. Now go do the right thing and vote the bums (egoists) out of office on election day.
