Conservative Thought of the Day

As Margaret Thatcher once said; The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money". Obama might run out of ours while maintaining (lying) all the while that he's cutting the budget down to size and reducing the deficit. Is he imitating Pinocchio or what?

IS IT DÉJÀ VU JIMMY CARTER AGAIN?

We’ve passed the end of Obama’s first year in office and it is getting eerily similar, in nature, to the disastrous Jimmy Carter Administration.

With unemployment in almost double digits, a foreign policy seemingly directionless, decisions not being made in a timely manner, and a “malaise” throughout the country, is this the “hope and change” Obama promised and which voters voted for in 2008? I think not!

It seems that his “apology tour” around the world has made him some temporary friends, but not much respect from the leaders of the world, even among some of our allies in Europe. The outrageous spending proposals that Obama and the Democrats have put into effect, thereby driving up our deficit to over $1.4 trillion in one year, has frightened some of the countries who do business with us, especially China who has over $800 billion of our debt. They should be worried.

A rational person, after reading the “tea leaves”, would attempt to scale back and try to be fiscally prudent, but no, it’s full steam ahead with a monstrosity of a health care bill that would add $10 trillion of debt over the next 10 years. In addition, add to that the climate change bill which recently passed in the House of Representatives, called “Cap and Trade” (it really should be called Cap and Tax), which will raise taxes on everyone, not just the “evil” rich, who uses energy to heat their homes, to power their cars etc. But, then again, what would you expect from a person with the experience of a “community organizer” and a nondescript first-term Senator who had a tendency to” vote present” instead of taking a stand on controversial issues.

Did the citizens of the U.S. vote for the “transformation” of America that Obama is trying to foist upon us? The more the people realize what is being proposed and how it will affect them; they are rising up and saying “no way Jose”. That was the major motivation behind the hundreds of thousands of protestors at the various Tea Parties around the country this past summer. Even some die-hard liberals now seem to be getting “buyers remorse”. They should be asking for our forgiveness for being duped so easily.

During his first term in office, Obama is setting out to be as inoffensive as possible. That’s exactly what President Jimmy Carter tried to do with about the same results. The Obama “Apology Tour” hasn’t reaped any substantial successes among our friends or foes around the world. I think those countries don’t see strength on the part of U.S foreign policy, but they do see weakness and indecision. The Russians, Iran, No. Korea, Venezuela, and even France have all questioned our foreign policy or lack thereof.

Of course, President Obama, with a limited amount of foreign policy experience, keeps claiming that he inherited the “mess” we’re in – It’s Bushes fault, as the monotonous strain of blame goes every time he gets rebuked by the world’s leaders or gets questioned by the media. It’s a “joke” that has dire consequences for our country. Instead of emulating the strong leadership of Ronald Reagan, Obama has hitched his wagon on the policies of Jimmy Carter. I guess the old expression of, “Those that don’t remember the past are bound to repeat it” is the expression that puts Obama’s domestic and foreign policies into proper perspective. It looks like its “déjà vu” Jimmy Carter all over again. May heaven help us!

Conservative Quote of the Day

"Under Presidents Hoover, Truman and Eisenhower, we had a program called "Operation Wetback" that rounded up and deported illegal aliens in order to create jobs for American citizens. If it worked in the past, why wouldn't it work now?
I guess back then we didn't have worry about "political correctness" and the A.C.L.U."

CAN YOU SMELL A RAT?

I’m sure many people have referred to that saying over the course of one’s life, but did you know how the saying was derived? It seems it goes back to the time when dogs were used to find out where rats were located in a building, a house, or whatever or wherever a rat might be hiding. The dog would be able to “smell a rat” when he found one or a nest of them, thereby raising a “red flag” to someone who wanted to know in order to get rid of those pests.

The same expression could be used by anyone of us when we see something that just doesn’t seem right or “kosher”, we might just “smell a rat”.

Take, for instance, the budget proposal just offered by our “Spender in Chief”, Barack Hussein Obama. He is proposing to have our government spend 3.8 trillion dollars in fiscal year 2011 and to increase our deficit by another 1.4 trillion dollars, and then claim that he was being frugal and trying to balance the budget. I “smell a rat”!

Next, we have our illustrious Attorney General, Eric Holder, who has made some really whacky decisions lately. The first stupid decision was in deciding to have Khalid Sheik Mohammed and his fellow 9/11 conspirators tried in our civilian criminal justice system instead of military tribunals, which is the proper place to try illegal enemy combatants. In addition, he decided, an hour after the Christmas plane bomber was arrested, to give him his Miranda rights, which immediately caused him to shut up like a clam. He seems to have a history of being on the wrong side of most everything he touches. In the Clinton Administration, he was Assistant Attorney General under Janet Reno. He was the one responsible for the disgraceful pardon of swindler Marc Rich, the pardon of the imprisoned Puerto Rican terrorists, and the pardon of disgraced former Congressman Mel Reynolds, a convicted child molester. Just recently, his law firm has been involved with defending some of the terrorist prisoners at Gitmo. Would that have any effect on his decision to try the terrorists in our civilian court system? Judging from his past record, it might very well be the case. I think I “smell a rat”!

It seems that we have new “royalty” in our country in the person of Nancy Pelosi, the “Botox Queen”, who is Speaker of the House.

Can you imagine that during dire economic times, like we are facing today, she commands the use of a 757 jumbo jet to fly back and forth to California and to make trips all around the world, on the country’s dime, sometimes with many of her Democratic colleagues? It is estimated that it costs over $5 million per year just to cater to her travel needs and tastes in food and drink (reports claim that the well stocked bar on the plane costs us taxpayers $100,000 per year). Does she really need or deserve this type of pampering when she and her husband are multi-millionaires who could well afford to hire their own jet plane to use for her extra-curricular duties? This perk doesn’t meet the smell test. I strongly “smell a rat”, don’t you?

What we need to do is fumigate Washington D.C. and get rid of all the “rats” that are screwing up our economy and our way of life. Maybe then we will not be able to “smell a rat”, like we do now! We must start this “rat” cleanup this coming November.

Climategate: Inhofe Raises the Temperature

This article below is courtesy of http://pajamasmedia.com/

Senator James Inhofe calls for Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, and the EPA, to respond to the "crisis of confidence" in the IPCC's CO2 findings.

February 11, 2010 - by Charlie Martin

Senator James Inhofe has just turned up the heat on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) — the UN NGO that is responsible for collecting and reviewing the evidence for anthropogenic climate change — and its chairman, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri.

Wednesday afternoon, Senator Inhofe gave a Floor Speech (Click Here) in which he summarized the rapidly accumulating evidence of severe flaws in the IPCC assessment reports, along with the other issues uncovered by the release of the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) emails.

Inhofe, a long-time critic of the evidence for anthropogenic global warming and of the “cap and trade” carbon exchange schemes, used his floor speech to point out to the Senate that the IPCC report included the infamous “2035″ date for the disappearance of glaciers from the Himalayas — which the IPCC has now been forced to retract.

As Inhofe put it, the Obama administration considers the IPCC reports the “gold standard” of climate change science, but the continuing revelations about flaws in the science have led to a “crisis of confidence” in the IPCC process. This followed Inhofe having built an igloo with his family and marking it “Al Gore’s New Home” after the record-breaking Washington, D.C., blizzard this week. (An effort for which he and his whole family were nominated
“Worst Person in the World” by Keith Olbermann.)

Inhofe’s speech didn’t directly call for any particular action on the part of Congress, but it did point out that the Obama administration has asserted that if a cap and trade bill doesn’t pass, it could achieve similar effects by a simple finding by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that carbon dioxide is a pollutant — a finding the EPA actually made late last year. However, as Inhofe pointed out in his on-floor remarks, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson had testified to his committee that the CO2 finding was largely based on the IPCC reports.

Inhofe noted that Pachauri had testified on climate change in front of his committee, saying:

Dr. Pachauri should come clean and respond directly to the numerous charges made against himself and the IPCC. Given that Dr. Pachauri has testified before Congress, including the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, we should hear directly from him as soon as possible as to how he can salvage the IPCC’s vanishing credibility.

We Need Some Global Warming Here in St. Pete

Today when I went out this a.m. it was 40 degrees in St. Pete. Looking at the weather report I saw that it was 20 degrees in Chester, NJ (a previous residence), 14 in Chicago, 18 in Louisville, and 23 in New York City. Plus, I enjoyed the beautiful pictures of snow in D.C., Maryland, and assorted other places. I enjoyed seeing the pictures and NO I do not miss the change of seasons. A number of years of plowing out and shoveling a 450 foot driveway cured me of the change of seasons disease.

And yet even after two back-to-back years of cold, snowy winters and statistics showing we are in for a decade of lower temperatures, we still have that blowhard, Al Gore, along with his mindless followers saying we are in danger of global warming.

Well, I saw this musical tribute to Al Gore on You Tube I thought you might enjoy.

New CDC Alert

READ AND TAKE NECESSARY CORRECTIVE ACTION….

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of transmitted disease. The disease is contracted through ignorant, promiscuous, and irresponsible behavior. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectem and is pronounced "gonna re-elect ‘em."

Many victims contracted it in 2008, after having being "brainwashed" with promised change and then screwed. Naturalists and epidemiologists are amazed at how widespread this disease has become since it is so easily cured....by voting out all incumbents!

Apparently, there is a vaccine available in Massachusetts .

WOULD YOU HIRE OBAMA TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS?

When you run a business and you need competent help in running that business, experience tells you that it’s very difficult to find competent people to work for you.

In evaluating the applicants or prospects (let’s say for a managerial position) you look at the experience of the prospective employee (manager) and decide whether or not he/she has the right “smarts” for the position. You want to choose someone that will be an asset to the business and who will help the business make a profit (a dirty word for liberals) and have the businesses best interests at heart. Many might apply but few are hired.

Well, the same could be said in the hiring of someone in the public sector (a government job), but from the experience of what we see in how government agencies are run, it seems that the government gets the “short end of the stick” on many occasions as many government executives are either incompetent or they are lacking in the managerial skills to make the government agency run smoothly and efficiently. Many that fall into this category are political appointees as payback for support to a political party or candidate who makes the appointment.

Now, let’s take a look at Barack Hussein Obama, who applied for the greatest job (in terms of responsibility) in the world, the President of the United States. What managerial experience did he have for the job of President? Think about that for a minute in light of what he has accomplished as President up till now. Looking back on his background (or resume) – at least what we can find or that which has not been declared off-limits or that which has been closed off to public scrutiny, he has had practically no managerial experience and zero business experience to go along with it. He hasn’t even run a small business like a Dairy Queen or ever had to meet a payroll or had the acumen to strive to make a profit (again, a dirty word to him and the Democrats). Now he’s running multi-billion dollar corporations, like car companies and banks. He gives credence to the so-called “Peter Principle”, that incompetence is rewarded on certain occasions in business or government.

Being a “Community Organizer” (another term might be a community “rabble-rouser”) and an Assistant Law Professor and an Illinois State Senator (who voted “present” 130 times) and a U.S. Senator for 1 ½ years, doesn’t seem to give him the practical knowledge and experience to make the political and economic decisions that are needed in these tough times. Even his top advisors and people in his administration have limited business experience as they are mostly all lawyers, government bureaucrats and academics. A recent study has shown that only 8% of the people surrounding him have had any private sector business experience at all, the lowest amount of any previous president in history.

His decisions, during a deep recession, to propose new taxes, announce that he will let the Bush tax cuts expire in 2011 and to have the government take over auto companies, banks and our health care system, are all decisions that are contrary to good business practice. It is the poison pill that sends shivers down the spine of our private businesses. They need tax relief not more taxes. They need less onerous government bureaucratic regulations, and they need a business climate that gives incentives for entrepreneurs to prime the pump and invest in new businesses or to expand existing businesses. That will create the good jobs that are desperately needed today. Make work government jobs do not add to our GDP, private sector jobs creating something of value like goods or services are what we need. What Obama is doing now is prolonging the recession, not alleviating it. He really has no clue. He is the “Pied Piper of Cluelessness”.

So, if you were a business owner and knowing what you know about Obama and how he operates and the policies that he is promoting, would you hire him to run your business? I think I know the proper answer, unless you are a Kool-Aid drinking Obama “idol worshipper” who is blinded to reality by the man’s so-called charisma, in that case you would. May I suggest that you sell your stock first as that company will be headed for a Chapter 7 or 11 bankruptcy proceeding post haste? Too bad Donald Trump couldn’t use his famous catch-phrase, “You’re fired” when it comes to Obama, and save us from the lunacy of his insane policies.

Responsibility

My first wife, Linda, used to preach to our children the following mantra: "Responsibility. It means taking control of your own actions." Her idea was that every child must face up to whatever he (we only had boys) does and not to blame others. She repeated this lesson frequently and our sons would repeat it by heart. I hope they learned their lesson from these words and I wish that President Obama would learn the same lesson.

Obama has been in office for more than a year and has spent almost 3 trillion dollars on "stimulus" that does not stimulate the economy but just results in more and more pork for his pet political projects. Obama and his friends claim that the stimulus has added jobs. However, these jobs are nonexistent when you consider that every month the BLS has shown that more jobs are being lost than created. In fact, Investors Business Daily has tallied that the cost of each job created under Obama's fuzzy math cost $246,436 per job.

Just these past two weeks Wall Street has taken a sobering look at these statistics and has fallen more than 600 points. President Obama speaks and the stock market drops! And what is Obama's response? Blame President Bush! I guess, according to Obama, it is President Bush's fault that the 3 trillion dollar Obama plan has failed. I guess it is President Bush's fault that we are going bankrupt because of his excessive spending. When Obama speaks he may result in Chis Matthews feeling a tingle going up or down his leg. But when I hear him speak I feel fear that my children and grand children will face an economic catastrophe of incredible proportions.

My message to Obama. Learn about responsibility. Accept the consequences of your actions. Be a mature person and stop blaming others for your failings. When you are wrong accept it and learn from it. Stop blaming Bush for the hole you are digging us into. President Obama, it's called responsibility, taking control of your own actions.

Conservative Quote of the Day

Obama says that he was too busy getting things done, that he wasn't able to communicate properly to the American people about his policies, mainly health care. Is he kidding?
In his first year in office he delivered _411_ speeches and he gave _158_ interviews.
He communicated all right, but the voters weren't buying his "snake-oil", and as I said before, "You Can't Polish Horse Manure".

ALL TALK AND NO ACTION

That seems to be the prevailing feeling of the electorate of the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. Never have we seen a president spend so much time campaigning after he has already won the election. It seems like everyday he is on the T.V. or radio trying to convince the populace that his policies are the one’s they should support, and then he complains that he has failed to articulate his policies properly, which has caused the election debacles of Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. How come the “most gifted” orator of the modern times (according to the Obamamaniacs) couldn’t communicate with the voting public? He still can’t see that it might be his policies that are causing the angst of the American people and of his over-exposure in the media, and it’s not his empty words of trying to explain his ill-conceived policies to people who see through the façade of what he has to say. You could say that the old adage of, “Familiarity breeds contempt” might also be in play in evaluating his dismal performance after his 1st year as President. People are sick and tired of seeing him pontificate practically everyday of the year. Enough is enough.

During the campaign leading up to the election of 2008, Baruch Hussein Obama, although being labeled the most liberal Senator in the Senate, ran a campaign of being a moderate with a slight tilt to the right on fiscal matters. He actually came across as more conservative than his opponent John McCain on quite a few issues. It came to be said that you should never listen to what Obama said or was saying, but watch what he does. It reminds one of the slight of hand artist that gave the illusion of doing something magical. As I said in one of my previous editorials, he is all “smoke and mirrors”. He would make a terrific “Three Card Monty” scam artist.

One could argue that politics always brings out the obfuscation that politicians use to try to appeal to the voting public, but Obama has refined that to professional standards. It seems to have worked well for him during the campaign, but once he arrived in the White House and had to make decisions without a core philosophy, except to “transform” the United States as we know it, and to use Europe-style socialism as the model to be followed, the people revolted as shown by the grass-roots popularity of the Tea Party movement and the protesters at the Town Hall meetings last summer and fall. All Obama and his cronies could do in response was to mock these people by calling them names like “rednecks”, “tea baggers”,
“Nazi’s” etc., etc. Even the people of Massachusetts rejected that depiction and jumped on the anti-Obama bandwagon by electing Scott Brown to the Senate against all odds.

It’s almost like Obama is the front man for some sinister anti-Americans who want to diminish the United States in the eyes of the world. Some might even claim that he was the “Manchurian Candidate” and now is the “Manchurian President”. It seems that someone is pulling his strings. What else would explain why he is still hell-bent on trying to push his agenda even in the face of polls showing that the people are not buying what he is trying to sell? Look at his friends and associates who he surrounds himself with. Most all are life-long radicals (Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Andy Stern of S.E.I.U.), professed communists (Van Jones, Bill Ayers), and anti-Capitalists (Cass Sunstein, George Soros) etc., etc., many of whom have been appointed as czars in his administration.

So, we must be vigilant as to what the Saul Alinsky (author of “Rules for Radicals”) trained President is trying to do and we must fight it at every turn so that the “talk” does not become the “action” that will destroy our country as we know it. The “Founding Fathers” must be turning over in their graves?
