MORT’s meanderings

Nobel Piece Prize for Voluntary  Submission & Surrender

This year’s Nobel Prize is shared by the two leading practitioners of high crimes & misdemeanors plus felonies, in the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama and John Fool-me-every-time Kerry.

Never since the traitorous Benedict Arnold and the gullible Neville Chamberlain have we seen the likes of such betrayal and stultifying  stupidity.

It doesn’t take a lot of artful diplomacy to cut deals with sworn enemies, when one actively seeks out what the enemy wants most in this world then, doubles and triples the ante, gift wraps it in billion dollar bills and delivers it onto the doorstep of that enemy without receiving a single concession in return.

These two geniuses also deserve a couple of Emees for the worst acting of this or any other season.

Black “Lies” Matter

Sheriff David Clarke, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (a black sheriff) came up with that play on the phrase, “Black Lives Matter”, which is an off-shoot of the radical black group called, “Hands Up Don't Shoot” (a proven discredited phase that came about during the Ferguson, Mo. incident of last year).

This racist loosely-knit organization, “Black Lives Matter” (which is similar to the predominantly white radical group of a few years ago, called “Occupy Wall Street), is going around the country trying to agitate racial incidents, and by shutting down speakers at various political gatherings. They have had some success in a few places and events. The main disruptions have been against mostly Democrats, but it is most likely going to extend to Republicans in the near future.

This group is trying to generate controversy by injecting racial animosity into almost every case where there is a confrontation between a black person and a white law enforcement official. Leaders of this “racist” movement are the usual suspects, Al Sharpton, Professor Cornel West and other “racial arsonists”.

It seems that they are only interested in getting involved in incidents between blacks and whites. They don't seem to care about the enormous uptick of violence and murder that is occurring in the predominantly black communities around the country and its black on black violence, mayhem and looting. I guess that doesn't fit their agenda of roiling up racial discord to further whatever ends they are trying to accomplish,

Meanwhile, predominantly black towns and cities are reeling under the impact of this racial turmoil. It seems that the powers-to-be in the Obama administration are not using the “bully pulpit”, like they should, to stem this movement and the violence it is engendering by its provocative actions. Obama said 6 years ago that he was going to be a racial healer, but it seems he has abdicated that goal and has instead became a racial agitator by injecting himself into various incidents over the years, generally against the cops. Cities such as Detroit, Chicago, Ferguson, Baltimore, St. Louis, and Oakland etc. have become battlegrounds, whereby the police have become the enemy, not the protectors of the community they are sworn to protect. The police in these communities are very hesitant to act and carry out their duties for fears of being arrested and charged with a crime, of losing their job, notwithstanding, the fear of bodily injury by attacks n them by people in the community. Politicians have used the police as scapegoats for the inefficiency of the public officials running these communities (mayors and public prosecutors). By the way, most all these communities under siege, are run by liberal Democrats, might there be a correlation?

So yes, Sheriff David Clarke has coined the proper revision of that phrase of “Black Lives Matter” to “Black Lies Matter”, for that is what it is, a false narrative by black rabble-rousers trying to agitate for more violence and confrontation. Where is our president when we need leadership to stem this violence? Probably on the golf course or hosting a championship sports team at the White House? Rome burns while Nero (Obama) fiddles. How sad!

Obama's Trojan Horse Strategy

A leader cannot run a country with his head buried in the sand.
After leaving a session with his top military brass at the Pentagon,
President Obama stated his strategy will defeat ISIS, but it will take
a longtime. Then he proceeded to announce that he ordered a
reduction of our military personnel by 40,000.

His Trojan horse turns out to be the training of 60 ragtag Syrian
rebels to join a none existent coalition ground force, to repel the
Jihadists.

There is something terribly wrong with this picture. If this doesn't
concern you, it ought to.

President George H.W. Bush formed a coalition of nations, led by
Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, that on January 17th, 1991 routed
Saddam Hussein's invading forces out of Kuwait and pushed them
back to Baghdad in 42 days.

This man is not qualified to protect our nation. Every facet of his
diplomacy and actions has been weak, wrong or none existent,
exacerbating the situations.

Bending over to bury its head in the sand, an Ostrich exposes its
rear end. This similar action by Mr. Obama has left our country's
rear end exposed, and it is being kicked in, big time by second and
third world countries because of his shame and degradation of our
exceptionalism.

Whatever Happened to Reagan's 11th Commandment?

Ronald Reagan once proclaimed that Republican's should observe an 11th Commandment; “Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican”. If this bad blood rhetoric continues between primary candidates, it'll assure the election of Hillary Clinton, and a continuation of the disaster that we have now in the White House, by the name of Barack Hussein Obama.

It's normal, in a general election or primary election, for a candidate to disagree with an opponent on policy issues, but when the disagreement gets personal and nasty, the atmosphere is poisoned and those personal attacks will come back to haunt the eventual candidate who'll be running against the Democrat candidate.

We don't need to give ammunition to the Democrats, as they will try to demonize and denigrate the Republican candidate anyway. Look what happened to Mitt Romney in 2012. After an overly bruising Republican primary when personal attacks were brought against Romney by fellow Republicans, those attacks were used by the Democrats to help defeat him in the general election. Of course, Romney helped create his own defeat by not doing what he should have done after the 1st debate he had with Obama, which Romney won, but the bad mouthing by his fellow Republicans exacerbated his losing campaign.

With all this ill wind blowing around the Republican candidates by other Republicans, it does not bode well for whomever gets the Republican nomination. Will those criticized candidates and their loyal supporters turn out in the general election after such an acrimonious display of disrespect for each other? Many Republicans didn't come out to vote for Romney because of real or perceived angst about him personally or of his policies. Look what that got us, four more years of a disaster called Obama. Is that what we want in 2016? You would've thought we learned our lesson in 2012, but like a spoiled brat child, the Republican candidates slime and vilify each other trying to garner votes for their candidacy. But, only one person is going to be the Republican candidate, and if he/she has to overcome the negative attacks of fellow Republicans, we are going to commit political suicide.

It seems that the biggest punching bag at present is Donald Trump. Both he and his detractors are guilty of violating the Reagan 11th Commandment. This has got to stop or we will be saddled with another Saul Alinsky acolyte for another 4 years. What a disaster that will be, all because of the petty actions of fellow Republicans against each other. You don't see Democrats vilifying other Democrats, even though they might not be in total agreement with each other. They stick together come hell or high water.

Republicans, wise up and direct your venom toward the Democrat candidate, most likely Hillary. She is very vulnerable as her negatives approach the 60% level. The people do not think she is honest and truthful. But, we, Republicans, must observe Reagan's 11th Commandment by not speaking ill of other Republicans, and point our efforts to beating the Democrats. If we can win in 2016, our country will be the big winner. If not, may God have mercy upon us.

MORT’s meanderings

What can we expect from President Obama over the next 16 months of his term? Just look back  over the past 6.5 years.  It won’t get any better.
The die is cast; the pattern is set. Expect the systematic destruction of all that we hold dear in this nation, to continue unabated – only, the veil of obscurity will have been lifted and blatantly open hostility toward Israel and our traditional allies will become the order of the day.  More giveaways.  More consorting with Islam and more sucking up to our sworn enemies.  More finger-pointing at any and all who dare oppose the dictates of ‘Barack, the Wise One’.  More hostility toward the Congress and Supreme Court.  More unilateral actions by Executive decree.  More accommodations of illegals, insurgents and Islam.  More of the same, only worse.
Jimmy Carter on the way out. Rather than jump on his grave soon after his demise, I wanted to express my total disgust at formerly the worst POTUS to occupy the White House, while he is still alive.  The American voter has made some egregious errors over the years, electing this incompetent Democrat was one of the more egregious. He couldn’t manage his peanut farm,  He hadn’t a clue about managing the Executive Branch.  For a smart guy, he seemed to have no learning curve, whatever.  He quickly became addicted to Saudi oil money.  And he was and will still be to his dying day, the most visible anti-Semite we’ve ever seen.
Is there any good news, Mort? Yes, there is.  We have the largest field of highly-qualified Republican candidates for the Presidency ever to stand for election.  We have the burning memory of Democrat mis-management of the governing process at all levels - local, regional and national – to remind us that we are at the very end of our rope in terms of supporting failed ideologies and failed policies.  We should have learned our lesson with the Obama debacle.  That is the good news.  Question?  Are we strong enough to learn from the past?

Are We Stupid or What?

President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry, have stated that the nuclear deal that they negotiated with Iran will prevent the Iranians from getting a nuclear weapon. Do those assurances by our “esteemed” leaders remind you of past agreements with rogue nations? In 1938, Neville Chamberlain, negotiated an agreement with Nazi Chancellor Adolph Hitler, which according to Chamberlain, would bring “Peace in our time”. Well, how did that agreement work out (within a year WW11 broke out)? Next, we had President Clinton negotiate a nuclear agreement in 1994 with North Korea, another rogue nation. In announcing an agreement with North Korea, Clinton made the following statement:

“This agreement is good for the United States, good for our allies, and good for the safety of the entire world”. He said, “The deal requires them (No. Korea) to “freeze” their existing nuclear program and to accept international inspection of all existing facilities”. He then went on to say, “The agreement does not rely on trust. Compliance will be certified by the International Atomic Energy Agency”,

Well, how did that work out? Within a year or two, North Korea was testing nuclear weapons. Do those appeasing agreements sound similar to the agreement that Obama and Kerry want us to accept?

We were not negotiating with Mother Teresa, we were negotiating with another rogue nation (Iran), who just a week before the announcement, held a massive rally condemning both the U.S.A. and Israel. In addition, the demonstrators called for the death of Americans and Israeli's. How can you negotiate with a country who has called for your death?

Leading up to this ridiculous agreement that will (hopefully not) be reached with Iran. We stated, unequivocally, that we would agree not to allow Iran to purchase conventional weapons and ballistic missiles. In addition, we said that any agreement with Iran would include unfettered inspection of any nuclear site. Well, what happened to those assurances in the deal which will soon be submitted to Congress for approval or rejection? Iran will be able to purchase conventional weapons after 5 years, and Iran does not have to agree to unannounced inspections anytime or anywhere. What did we get in return for those concessions? Nada, nil, zilch, and nothing, except that Iran would agree to this toothless agreement. It seems Obama would agree to anything just to get an agreement signed (regardless of how bad it might be), especially as it it might enhance his legacy (in his mind).

In this worthless agreement, we agreed to “unfreeze” Iranian assets that we have withheld for years, which amounts to many billions of dollars. Iran can't wait to get their hands on that flow of funds as it will not only prop up their pitiful economy, but it could also be used to further their efforts to support and export terrorism around the Middle East and around the world. Does any sane person, knowing how Iran has acted in the past, believe that Iran will not use this money to support the Assad regime, Hezbollah, Yemeni Houthi rebels, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist groups?

One thing that can be said about this deal is that it has formed an alliance between former enemies. That alliance now includes Israel, Jordan, Egypt, the Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Can you imagine that arch enemies in the past just a few short years ago, are now in harmony against this abomination that Obama and Kerry has agreed to with Iran? Maybe those countries know something that Obama and Kerry don't know, that this deal is something that we should not accept no matter what meaningless assurances are made by both our negotiators and Iran.

So, the answer to the headline is, YES, Obama and Kerry do think we are stupid if we accept this appeasing document with our avowed enemy, Iran. Let's hope Congress rejects this agreement.

#1 Danger

There is conflicting consensus what poses to be the greatest danger to the world.

Although our government's present administration refuses to identify radical Islam a savage
menace to humanity, it prefers to use global warming as its top priority, to the detriment of
thousand who have suffered and lost their lives under the tyranny from those our President
refuses to identify as Jihadist terrorists. There may be no specific law regarding terrorism,
but to recognize them as such will tie his hands, to bargain and make deals without
congressional approval.

By backing his green contributor exponents friendly to the Climate Change theory, many of
them have become quite wealthy.

Hidden like a sleeper cell, lurks the the real danger. The man, Mr. Cool, who promised to
change the face of America. He is a peril, because he took the helm from what our country
stood for, for us and to the world, and steered us into his ideological sophistry. While his
children are protected, safe and secure in a private school, his foot dragging, making late
decisions to counter draconian cruelty to humanity, has given renewed activity to old hot
spots and new ones, while other peoples' children are dying since his taking the reins.

In comparing conditions nationally and internationally, before he took the helm, it is
evident his lack of leadership has been due to inexperience, incompetency, naivety,
arrogance and narcissism. Who or what stands in the way from defeating ISIS, al Qaeda,
Boco Haram, Jihadists, and Taliban is Barack Hussein Obama and his team of advisers.

His plans for America have been trying to fit a size 10 foot into a size 6 shoe for show.
It hasn't worked and it has been very painful for the productive.

Was Donald Trump Right?

The response to what Donald Trump said at his announcement for president, has been almost hysterical by the liberal media, open borders advocates, and liberal Democrats, mainly to try to score some cheap political points.

The parsing of what Trump said, although some might say was not artfully or diplomatically done, made it sound like he was painting a broad brush on all Mexicans. Being the non-politician that he is, he could've and should've structured his words better, but was what he said wrong?

He pointed out, which almost all straight-thinking people already know, is that we have an “illegal immigrant” problem, and that it was something that should not happening to our country. He claimed that the country of Mexico was sending her “human problems” to our country (about 75% of illegal aliens do not have a high school diploma), thus causing much havoc in our country as drug dealers, human traffickers (coyotes), and yes, even some rapists and kidnappers, have invaded our country”illegally”. He stated that not all people who have crossed our border illegally fall into that criminal category, but it is a big problem for our social services, law enforcement, and our national security, by not knowing who is coming into our country. (By the way, this is not strictly a Mexican problem as many nationalities, from around the world, have crossed our border illegally, but 70% are Mexican).

Let's look at the problem that Donald Trump alluded to in his now famous remarks. Between $11 billion and $22 billion is spent on welfare programs to illegal immigrants each year by state governments. Approximately $22 billion is spent on food assistance in the form of food stamps, WIC programs, and free school lunches for illegal immigrants. $2.5 billion a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal immigrants. $12 billion a year is spent on primary and secondary education for children here illegally who, in most cases, cannot speak English. $17 billion a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal immigrants, known as “anchor babies”.
$3 million a day is spent to incarcerate illegal immigrants (30% of all federal prison inmates are illegal immigrants). In addition, Mexican immigrants send home to Mexico over $20 billion, which is money not spent here in the U.S.A.

Mexico, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be helping us stop the flow of illegals into our country. In fact, it is rumored that Mexico has set up information seminars for people on what to do, say, and how to act if they cross our border and get apprehended by U.S. Authorities. Of course, the policies of the Obama administration hasn't helped the situation by their lax policies of turning a blind-eye on the problem, and by fostering policies like the “Dream Act” and by releasing over 30,500 criminally convicted immigrants back into the general population, in 2014.

The irony of this brouhaha about what Trump said, is that if someone “illegally” enters Mexico, the Mexican authorities immediately deport those people and give them no benefits whatsoever. Contrast that with our policy. Why shouldn't we have those same policies that Mexico has, and which Mexico has the nerve to criticize us for in some cases, of trying to bring order to our border to stop illegal immigrants?

So, Donald Trump is getting beat up in the press and by the holier-than-thou Democrats, but has what he said been discredited - the answer is “NO” and his words have resonated with many people around the country. He said what many others were thinking, but were afraid to say in our “politically correct” environment for fear of being called a bigot or worse.

Love him or hate him, he has brought this problem to the forefront and it looks like some meaningful action, to address this problem, by the Congress will be forthcoming. THANK YOU FOR THAT, DONALD TRUMP.

MORT’s meanderings

The magic of 20%.
If it’s a flat tax we’re talking about, I guess I’m pretty much okay with 20%.  I’d like it to be closer to 10% but realistically, if it is a true 20% with no hidden ‘ups’, I’d like to try it for two years to see how it trends.
If it’s a discount on something I want to purchase, I guess I’m pretty much okay with 20%. 75% would be even better but, I’m not going to be a pig about it.
It it’s an increase in my weight or an increase in the cost of something that I need on a regular basis, I wouldn’t be so happy about that. Let’s hold the line, please.
If it’s a percentage by which all levels of government will be reduced straight across the board, that would be a good thing.  {The only exception; the budget for national defense.)  70% would suit me even better.  I do recognize that It would mean that a lot of people would be obliged to jump into the market to seek other kinds of employment but I think that bottom line – it would be worth it.
If our military budget were to be increased by 20%  every other year for three cycles, we’d be well on the way back to a satisfactory level of strength, closer to where we should always be as a leader of the world.   Strength = Security.
If 20% of those illegal aliens who invade our nation by crossing our  Southern border every day were to be shot dead on sight, as they step across the line and if  the other 80% were to be captured, bound hand and foot, trucked back to our border with Mexico and thrown from the flatbed trucks, across that border, that would be just fine with me.  This applies to men, women and children.  Problemo  would soon disappear. Fence, what fence?  We dun need no stinkin’ fence.
If 20% of all foreign aid to nations that hate us were to be withheld each and every consecutive budget year, until we’ve reached ‘zero’ giveaway, I think I’d be quite satisfied with that, too. I wasn’t so good at Math when I was in school but, I think I’ve gotten much gooder as time has went by.
