Glenn Beck - The New Republic, Americas Future

During the week of Aug.24 to Aug. 28, Glenn Beck, noted radio and T.V. talk show host, expounded on the people and organizations who work for and surround President Obama. Many of these groups and individuals have immediate access to the "ear" of the President. Many of the left-wing organizations, who fervently support Obama, are very upset with Glenn Beck and have called for a boycott of his advertisers. Remember, these are the same groups that "champion" free speech except if you don't agree with them.

We have chronicled the 5 episodes (commercial free) of his expose for you to see for yourself what he found out from his extensive research.

I think you'll be amazed, and in some cases offended, at to what he found out.

We've Figured Him Out

By Ben Stein
Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed? Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths: The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith. They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright. They ignored his refusal to explain years at a time of his life as a student. They ignored his ultra-left record as a "community organizer," Illinois state legislator, and Senator. The American people ignored his total zero of an academic record as a student and teacher, his complete lack of scholarship when he was being touted as a scholar.

Now, the American people are starting to wake up to the truth. Barack Obama is a super likable super leftist, not a fan of this country, way, way too cozy with the terrorist leaders in the Middle East, way beyond naïveté, all the way into active destruction of our interests and our allies and our future.

The American people have already awakened to the truth that the stimulus bill -- a great idea in theory -- was really an immense bribe to Democrat interest groups, and in no way an effort to help all Americans. Now, Americans are waking up to the truth that ObamaCare basically means that every time you are sick or injured, you will have a clerk from the Department of Motor Vehicles telling your doctor what he can and cannot do.

The American people already know that Mr. Obama's plan to lower health costs while expanding coverage and bureaucracy is a myth, a promise of something that never was and never will be -- a bureaucracy lowering costs in a free society. Either the costs go up or the free society goes away. These are perilous times. Mrs. Hillary Clinton, our Secretary of State, has given Iran the go-ahead to have nuclear weapons, an unqualified betrayal of the nation. Now, we face a devastating loss of freedom at home in health care. It will be joined by controls on our lives to "protect us" from global warming, itself largely a fraud if believed to be caused by man.

Mr. Obama knows Americans are getting wise and will stop him if he delays at all in taking away our freedoms. There is his urgency and our opportunity. Once freedom is lost, America is lost.

Wake up, beloved America! WAKE UP!!!!

Mark Levin taunts a Liberal for about 8 minutes. Listen to this OBOT (Obama Robot) back in February when they were so full of it. Well, they are still full of "it" but I am not talking about Hope and Change now.

Have They Lost Their Census?

A few months ago, Senator Judd Gregg refused to go ahead with his nomination to Commerce Secretary after he learned that the White House had taken over the work of the Census. “[He] didn’t want to be a powerless GOP token, and that’s where this was headed.” said one friend of his. Judd intimated the Census had “tipped the balance” for his decision. I remember how horrified I was at the time by the very idea and I could understand Judd feeling the necessity for his embarrassing and wrenching action.

The idea of the White House subsuming the Census just seems so wrong on so many levels. Even assuming the probity of any Administration taking such a step, the very act is per se, in itself, a horrible precedent and ripe with potential for, at least, non-intended problems and injustices. ACCOUNTABILITY is a hallmark of our American system. If this Census is taken away from the purview of the Cabinet, we are, in effect, putting our representative power further out of our hands (in that oversight of the process is further removed). To paraphrase one of our cherished ideals, “Enumeration without Representation is Tyranny”! The fact that the Obama group, in particular, was doing it seemed even more worrisome to me and, I’m sure, even to a lot of his more honest supporters. His team, throughout the campaign, kept betraying the “Chicago Way” mentality over and over again (just ask all those Hillary people!). Not only is the action itself almost unthinkable, having THESE people do it made it far worse.

Since then, one shocking and unnerving revelation about these people’s OTHER plans has leaked out bit by bit, making the Census problem one more brick in an ever-rising patterned wall that should alarm thinking patriots in terms of giving them hidden blanket powers. The Census problem worsened. The news came out that the group who caused so much turmoil with their unethical practices during the campaign, ACORN, is going to be asked to be part of the Census! I don’t really care WHAT role they will be playing. If it’s coming out of the White House, and using ACORN, a group notorious for inflating numbers for political gain, the very least we can assume is horribly gauche lack of consideration for the appearance of impropriety. At the least, it is a slap in the face of those who still assume freedom is an American ideal. And shouldn’t history and experience warn us about the worse types of impropriety we have already SEEN?

Just when I thought it couldn’t be worse, we now learn that materials are being sent to children across the country, involving them in the process directly. Previously, teachers had to request such materials. As a teacher, I have received an email already from the government. As a Catholic, the principle of subsidiarity, guaranteeing that the larger organs of society should try not to excessively interfere in the smaller groups such as families and schools seems to be violated. Using the force and prestige of the Government to enroll children in a process that is not accountable doesn’t jive with this sense:

One of the key principles of Catholic social thought is known as the principle of subsidiarity. This tenet holds that nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization which can be done as well by a smaller and simpler organization. In other words, any activity which can be performed by a more decentralized entity should be. This principle is a bulwark of limited government and personal freedom. It conflicts with the passion for centralization and bureaucracy characteristic of the Welfare State.

Why reach the “Tendrils” of powerful government so far unnecessarily? And children? Pervasive early submersion in powerful government direction is not the optimum way for Americans to ‘be involved’. After what we have seen already on the Census, and, in view of all the talk of mandatory volunteerism, civilian armies, and ‘not being allowed to NOT join in’, perhaps I may be excused for my suspicions without being accused of paranoia. This is yet one more thing that “We the People” have to raise a stink about and not let it be done in darkness. The reach of this Census should not be lengthened if it is being done in the way it is. The goal should be to return the Census to an accountable Cabinet Office; if that is not possible we must unveil it for all to see as we did with the Health Care threat. Shock them back to their SENSES!

You could have heard a pin drop

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying "Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intend to do, bomb them"?
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:
"Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flightdeck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have"?

Private vs. Public Operation

Since Obama used the Post Office as an example of Private vs. Public operation, read this WSJ editorial about the operations of the U.S. Post Office which will lose $7 billion this year and next etc. Can you imagine how efficient a government-run health care program will operate? Only a person with the malady CRI (Cranial Rectal Inversion) will not see that the government will screw up such a major undertaking which accounts for 1/6 of our economy. As Santayana once said, "Those that don't remember the past are bound to repeat it".

Did You Ever Wonder….? Part 2

Why do some people think they can negotiate with someone whose religious doctrine advocates cutting off your head because you are not like them?

Why the appointees to the Palm Beach Commission should have to give their Social Security numbers, when all that is needed to be sworn in is a prison number?

Why are liberals in favor of “special” advantages for others, only if they are sure that they won’t have to sacrifice as a result of giving those “special” advantages to someone else?

Why can’t we have a U.S. Congressman, to represent us here in the Delray/Boca area, who lives here in Florida and not in Maryland?

Why it would be a calamity for the Canadian people if we, as a country, opted for “Universal Health Care”, because then they wouldn’t have anyplace to go to get quality, timely health care which they can get now?

Why is racial discrimination, even in the interest of remediation, inclusion, or diversity, still racial discrimination, which is immoral, unconstitutional, and un-American?

Why don’t our government leaders realize that our present system of Social Security is just another “Ponzi Scheme” that makes Bernie Madoff look like a piker?

Why should 50% of all wage earners, who pay 97% of all the income taxes, have their tax rates increased, while the other 50%, who pay only 3% of all income taxes and, in addition, get a government rebate check, expect the other 50% to take care of them with their taxes?

Why can’t liberal politicians realize that our forefathers offered us the pursuit of happiness, not the guarantee of happiness?

Why is calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”?

Why can’t the gay community, who claim to be in favor of tolerance, be as tolerant of others who disagree with them?

Why shouldn’t public schools be forced to compete with alternative, and private schools, by issuing school vouchers or opportunity scholarships, as other kinds of enterprises have to compete in the marketplace, in order to improve the schools and the education of our children?

Why is it that the person, who trashes and slanders others for disagreeing with him, tells the public more about him, the accuser, than about the accused?

Why should we be forced to abide by the Geneva Convention in dealing with ruthless terrorists, when they don’t abide by the strictures of the Geneva Convention in return?

Why can’t some people understand that if we artificially lower drug prices by instituting price controls or by sanctioning re-importation, many drug companies would simply stop making many new drugs as being financially not worth the effort?

Why is it that consumers and producers tend to find solutions themselves, instead of by government interference or regulation, when their own money is at stake?

After reading this, is there any wonder why people wonder?

Saint Ted

As you know Ted Kennedy passed away today. Although I was never a fan of Ted Kennedy, he was an effective politician and, I am sure, will be missed by many.

However, as good a politician as Ted Kennedy was he was never a saint. And yet if you heard the comments from President Obama, Senator Byrd, Chris Matthews, the media, etc., you would have thought that he was the male version of Mother Theresa.

In fact, the good news is that if Ted Kennedy is a saint, maybe there is hope for all of us! Review Ted Kennedy’s life and you will see what I mean.

Senator Kennedy attended Harvard University but was expelled twice: once for cheating on a test and a second time for paying a fellow classmate to cheat for him.

Kennedy enlisted in the Army and signed up for what he thought was a two year tour of duty. It seems that he actually signed up for four years and his father had to pull some strings to get enlistment down to two years and to make sure he served in Europe and not in combat in Korea. Kennedy did not appear to get into much trouble in the army but surprisingly could not rise above the rank of private first class – a remarkable “un-accomplishment” considering his education and background.

We all know the story of what happened on July 19, 1969, when he attended a party on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts. That evening he got in his car and with Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker, drove off the island. Kennedy drove the car off the bridge into to Poucha Pond. He swam to the shore and walked past a number of houses and a fire station and returned to the party. Two friends returned with him to the scene of the accident and told him by law he must report the incident to the police. Instead Kennedy made his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. Kennedy called the police the next morning and by then the wreck had already been discovered. He later pled guilty of leaving the scene of an accident.

Since then Senator Kennedy’s reputation in D.C. is that of an obnoxious, drunk womanizer.

So, if Senator Kennedy is a saint, then there is hope for all of us.

Irena Sendler

There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena.

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an 'ulterior motive' ...

She KNEW what the Nazi's plans were for the Jews, (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi's broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize ..... She was not selected.

Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Conservative Quote of the Day

"The "loony left" liberals have the habit of attacking every Republican or conservative (especially Pres. Bush, V-P Cheney and Sarah Palin) as a crypto-nazi, a racist, and a religious bigot - and those citizens that supported them as an ignorant "redneck lynch mob". By appealing to racial, sexist, or sexual orientation stereotypes tells the public more about the accusers than about the accused.

LETS DO THIS.....

We have a little time left to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America. If you send this message to at least 11 people and each of those people do the same ... you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM:
On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds.
Action Plan: So, here's what we need you to do.
(1) Forward this message to everyone you know (at least 11 people). If you need incentive take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.
(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.
Thank you for your participation.

NEWS FLASH! TIGER LOSES!

Although it was not earth shattering news, the fact that the greatest golfer in the world lost a golf tournament pointed up the fact that Tiger Woods is human after all, and not unbeatable.

The same can’t be said of the “Obamamaniacs” who have their idol on such a high pedestal that they can’t envision the pedestal being toppled by his ineptitude in domestic and foreign affairs. Their blurred vision about his recent failures is why these “idol worshippers” are getting so angry and viciously personal at Obama’s opponents. As Obama’s poll numbers keep going down and down, they lash out by calling people who challenge the policies of Obama and the Democrats vile names, such as racists, brown shirts, and evil mongers. It seems that all the frustration that the “Obamamaniacs” held in for the 8 years of the Bush Administration, has blinded them to the facts of what’s happening to his inarticulate policies and personal popularity by their unstinting adherence to their “loony liberal” ideology.

Their hero, Obama, who is afflicted with an advanced case of narcissism, has also brought upon himself a severe case of CRI (Cranial Rectal Inversion). He seems to have a deaf ear as to what the average citizens are saying about his attempt to socialize the country by having government control our lives by instituting the “nanny state”. He and his cronies are lashing out at the average Joe and Jane by calling them names, all because they question him and his policies. How stupid and un-American is that?

Let’s hope we will be able to muddle through 3 ½ more years of this inept Obama Administration so he can be voted out in 2012. A Tiger Woods he is not!

Broken Promises

I think we should hold a contest. To win the prize an individual must list all of the campaign promises Obama has made and has broken. In the spirit of adventure, here is my list.

1. Obama promised to reform the earmark process. One of the first bill he signed contained more than 9,000 earmarks.
2. Obama promised not to sign any bill that is not an emergency “without giving the public an opportunity or review and comment on the White House Website for five days.” Obama has signed every bill immediately.
3. Obama promised that no lobbyist would work in the White House – but take a look at all of the Cabinet and other positions he has filled with Lobbyists. Here is a partial list from Hotair.com.
Eric Holder, attorney general nominee, was registered to lobby until 2004 on behalf of clients including Global Crossing, a bankrupt telecommunications firm [now confirmed].
Tom Vilsack, secretary of agriculture nominee, was registered to lobby as recently as last year on behalf of the National Education Association.
William Lynn, deputy defense secretary nominee, was registered to lobby as recently as last year for defense contractor Raytheon, where he was a top executive.
William Corr, deputy health and human services secretary nominee, was registered to lobby until last year for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, a non-profit that pushes to limit tobacco use.
David Hayes, deputy interior secretary nominee, was registered to lobby until 2006 for clients, including the regional utility San Diego Gas & Electric.
Mark Patterson, chief of staff to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, was registered to lobby as recently as last year for financial giant Goldman Sachs.
Ron Klain, chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, was registered to lobby until 2005 for clients, including the Coalition for Asbestos Resolution, U.S. Airways, Airborne Express and drug-maker ImClone.
Mona Sutphen, deputy White House chief of staff, was registered to lobby for clients, including Angliss International in 2003.
Melody Barnes, domestic policy council director, lobbied in 2003 and 2004 for liberal advocacy groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, the American Constitution Society and the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Cecilia Munoz, White House director of intergovernmental affairs, was a lobbyist as recently as last year for the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic advocacy group.
Patrick Gaspard, White House political affairs director, was a lobbyist for the Service Employees International Union.
Michael Strautmanis, chief of staff to the president’s assistant for intergovernmental relations, lobbied for the American Association of Justice from 2001 until 2005.
4. According to his comprehensive tax plan released during his campaign, Obama promised to “eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses.” We are still waiting for that one.
5. Obama's promised to provide a $3,000 refundable tax credit to existing businesses for every additional full-time U.S. employee hired in 2009 and 2010. He had the opportunity to do this in his stimulus package – but guess what? Another broken promise.
6. In October 2008, Obama promised to allow financially distressed Americans to withdraw up to $10,000 from their 401(k) accounts and retirement savings without having to pay penalties. They would only pay income taxes on the amount. Still another broken promise.
7. On his campaign website, Obama promised he would “remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months.” What he did not say was that he would redeploy the troops to Afghanistan. In any event, the timetable for withdrawal has not been met or even started.
8. During the campaign, Obama criticized President Bush for issuing “signing statements,"”attached letters to congressionally-passed bills that add interpretation and instruction on how to carry out the law. Obama said that this was not part of the President’s power. However, in March Obama attached his first signing statement to a $410 billion government spending bill and later said he would continue to use signing statements.
9. During the campaign Obama said he would “renegotiate” NAFTA. That hasn’t happened.
10. Remember when Obama promised no new taxes on anyone making less than $200,000 a year. His exact words in New Hampshire were: “Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” But less than a month after taking office, Obama signed an expansion of child healthcare financed by 62-cent tax increase on each pack of cigarettes.

Allen West Town Hall Meeting

This was a letter sent to Antonio Fins, the Editorial Editor of the Sun-Sentinel
Hi Antonio: I don't know whether the Sun-Sentinel had someone covering the Allen West Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, so let me give you a synopsis.
Since Ron Klein has refused to conduct a citizen participation Town Hall Meeting, this Allen West event was the only chance for people to express their thoughts on the health care bills being discussed in Congress in the 22nd C.D.
The 500 seat auditorium at the So. Fla. Bible College was filled to capacity with about 100 standees lining the wall. The people were all polite and asked some pointed questions. Some identified themselves as Democrats and a couple of gentlemen were naturalized citizens from the old Soviet Union. They said they don't want the U.S. to institute government run health care as that was one of the reasons why they left the tyranny of the Soviets.
Of course, Allen West is not yet the Congressman so people couldn't or wouldn't vent their anger and frustration at him. From what he said, even if he was the Congressman, he was addressing what the people were frustrated about and I'm sure the anger would not have been directed at him even if he was the representative in Congress
As usual, Allen West handled all the questions directed at him in a calm and direct way, he exhibited no "spin answers" whatsoever. That's quite an achievement for a politician or a budding politician like Allen West.
I'm sure things will be a lot different at the Robert Wexler Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, as he has publicly stated that he is for the House proposal no matter what the people think. That's ammunition for a confrontation which was not present at the West meeting.

Is Medicare Broken

Recently, I have heard some comments saying Medicare should be used as the basis for health care reform. So, I thought I would do some research to see what is the true costs of Medicare. What I learned is shocking.

The Medicare Trustees current report (and these Trustees were ALL appointed by President Obama) states: “$38 trillion (260% of current GDP) would have been needed at year-end 2008 to fund over the next 75 years projected shortfalls for Medicare hospital coverage and to meet the federal government’s statutory obligation to pay its share of other Medicare benefits, including prescription drug coverage.”

As the baby boomers begin to retire in 2011 there will be over $40 trillion in unfunded liabilities associated with Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security. A number of economists have been asked how will this deficit be overcome. Their answer consists of the following approaches. 1. Raise taxes. Any tax increase to be meaningful must include the middle class since this is where the biggest source of revenue exists. 2. Reduce benefits. However, this is a political bombshell that would not fly. 3. Reduce coverage. This is the approach taken in Canada and England, i.e., reducing which procedures and care will be paid for. For example, in the U.K., persons over the age of 70 often are denied coverage for such procedures as breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc. The U.S. presents a unique prospective because hospitals must provide “free care” to the indigent. However, the remainder of the population, you and me, make up these costs since are medical bills are increased to make up this deficit. However, Medicare is paying less and less for its procedures and guess who is making that up? The general population has to make up the deficit to hospitals and doctors because Medicare does not pay its share of the costs. If doctors and hospitals are expected to make up this deficit the question becomes how long will they stay in business? 4. Delay benefits. This would result in the current workers having to continue to work until they are over 70 years of age.

If you think my comments above are farfetched read the letter sent by Baptist General of South Florida in which they announced that “Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will no longer reimburse hospitals for certain specific conditions when acquired during the patient’s hospitalization. Pressure ulcer is one such condition CMS will not pay for if the pressure ulcer is acquired during the patient’s hospitalization. Although not always avoidable, CMS has taken the position that pressure ulcers are ‘reasonably preventable’ and will no longer reimburse hospitals…” http://www.baptisthealth.net/en/physicians/Documents/Wound_Care_Protocol_new.pdf

The nonpartisan Concord Coalition, citing data models from the Government Accountability Office, found that by 2027, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and net interest would consume all revenues collected by the federal government. By 2047, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid alone would consume all revenues. By 2052 the economy will be in ruin.

So, in brief Medicare is broken and should not be used as a model for health care reform. And any politician who suggests Medicare be used as a model is a fool.

Free Speech - But Not if You Criticize Obama

Glenn Beck on his Fox News Show has been critical of some of Obama’s anti-white statements and those of some of his appointees, such as the Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones.

Jones is a man who admits he was a communist and radical and whose organization colorofchange.com is associated with moveon.org.

Jones and company have started a campaign to pressure companies to pull their ads from Beck’s show – and it is working. See http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=107088. So far, Men’s Warehouse, GEICO, Progressive Insurance, and Sargento Cheese Company have pulled their ads.

However, a husband and wife team have come up with a website on their own which exposes the far left attempt to silence Beck. See http://www.defendglenn.com/index.html

As you can see, the left talks about free speech – as long as the right does not choose to exercise it. My prediction is that this is just the first step in the left’s attempt to silence critics. They are already culling e-mail addresses of citizens who criticize the anointed one. Now they are attempting to silence anyone in the media who objects to their policies.

Blind Worship of the Obamamaniacs

On Aug. 10 in a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, Pres. Obama said that FedEx and UPS are doing well, but their competitor the U.S. Post Office is the one having problems (billions of dollars worth of problems). He used that analogy to point up the benefits of public sponsored health care, but isn't FedEx and UPS privately run and profitable, but the Post Office is a quasi-government run entity that is a money loser? What has the President been smoking lately? Why should we support a government run program that would be a guaranteed money loser instead of a program that keeps costs low and makes a profit to boot?
Do you really have faith in the Obama team (made up of mostly lawyers, most of whom have had no business experience) running a government program that is 1/6 of our economy?
Is the blind worship of the Obamamaniacs scary or what? No matter what the "Anointed One" says or does they go into a swoon and are oblivious to the realities of life. Let's hope that the Obama voters recover from their stupor and wake up before it is too late.

The Obomination of our Economy

The Treasury Department announced that the federal government spent more than it took in for a tenth straight month in July, nearing a record set in 1991-92, when we saw 11 consecutive string of monthly budget deficits. July added $180.7 billion in red ink (a $2.1 trillion annual rate), which is close to the all-time monthly record of $193.86 billion set back in February.

For the first 10 months of fiscal 2009, the budget deficit widened to $1.267 trillion, more than triple the $388.6 billion for the first 10 months of fiscal 2008. Also in July 2009, government (federal) spending rose 26.2% to $332.18 billion. Year to date, spending is up 21.4% $3 trillion.

On the income side, federal government’s tax revenues declined 16.7% to $1.74 trillion compared with $2.09 trillion for the same period in fiscal 2008. During the same 10-month period, personal income-tax receipts fell by 20.5%, while corporate taxes declined a huge 57.7% to $104.5 billion.

AND THIS IS WITHOUT:
--tax increases [yet] -- biggest increase in history occurs in 2011
--cap and trade pushing up electric and energy bills 25% ?
--federal take over of health care industry and promising everyone everything
--Islamic terrorism hitting U.S. again

TO DRILL OR NOT TO DRILL?

Remember, Shakespeare once put forward the phrase, “To be or not to be, that is the question”? Well today, with the price of gasoline hovering around the price of $2.75 per gallon, the debate has been joined between two political ideologies, “to drill or not to drill”, that is the question today. On one side, are the people who want to tap our plentiful natural resources to get more oil, natural gas, coal, plus investing in clean nuclear power. On the other side, are the ardent environmentalists and the leaders of the Democratic Party, and many of their naive followers.

To me, as a commentator on the passing scene, I fall on the side of exploring for and using our natural resources to help in alleviating our thirst for energy and for us not to have to rely on foreign sources of energy for our needs. With us spending over $700 billion a year to foreign countries, many of whom are not our true friends, such as Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, and Russia, for obtaining much of our badly needed energy, it is a no-brainer to utilize what we have on land or off the continental shelf, to help us lessen our need for these unreliable sources of energy and keep most of that $700 billion here in the good ole U.S.A.

Yes, the critics are correct, that we cannot drill our way out of our energy problems, but by being less dependent on others, and giving us a larger energy supply, it will keep our country safer by not having to rely on unstable sources of energy in areas that are very volatile and hostile to the U.S. So, besides being a supply problem, it is also a national security problem. Of course, we must look for and develop alternative forms of energy to help wean us off carbon based fuels. But, with the high price of oil and natural gas today, it makes it much more feasible and cost efficient to develop other forms of energy that are renewable. It is not either/or, but both. We need bold leadership, in this area, to push for the “whole enchilada”, more oil, more coal, more solar, more wind, more hydro etc., etc. We can do it all, just like we did in putting a man on the moon in 1969.

Locally, we have a choice in 2010 to choose representatives that are in favor of this idea of doing it “all”. Congressional candidates Allen West in Fl.’s 22nd C.D., and Ed Lynch, in Fl.’s 19th C.D., have both come out in favor of developing “all” sources of energy. Their opponents have boxed themselves in, mainly for partisan political purposes, by being adamantly against exploration, drilling and mining under the guise that by doing so, we would be despoiling our environment for little or no gain. They seem to be afflicted with that medical condition called “Cranial Rectal Inversion” and the Democratic candidates seem to have a natural tendency to succumb to this malady more so than Republicans.

If you agree with me, you must get rid of the “rascals”, who have this medical condition called CRI, and you must vote into office, people who will represent you and your needs, and not just the needs of the “nay saying” Democrats and their political party. Voting for Allen West and Ed Lynch is a beginning in trying to answer that question of whether to “drill or not to drill”. Now, go do the right thing in 2010 and support these candidates who support you, either physically or financially. We could see another 1994 in 2010 if we all pull together.

Tax Tip of the Day

Thanks to reading a conservative blog, I have just learned of a terrific way to avoid paying real estate taxes. I was so excited about this tax saving measure I had to pass this on to all of you.

What you do is to start a tax free charitable foundation. It doesn’t cost you anything but can save you $$$. Next you declare your house as the office of the tax free foundation. Voila, you no longer are subject to real estate taxes in most jurisdictions but you can continue to live there tax free. In these hard economic times it is important to save every penny you can.

To show you that this is legitimate, it was done by none other than Rahm Emanuel, the former Democratic Congressman and now Obama Chief of Staff. See http://txazbee.blogspot.com/2009/05/rahm-emanuels-tax-loophole.html. You may want to read this blog because it shows other hints on saving taxes such as making donations to your charitable foundation so your children can go to a private school tax free.

The Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust was formed in 2002, when the Chicago lawmaker was first elected. The former Clinton White House aide and his wife, Amy Rule, are its only donors. Emanuel and Rule declared their 4228 North Hermitage home as the office location for their personal non-profit foundation. As the non-profit's headquarters, their home could be exempt from paying property taxes.

During the past three years, Emanuel's charity gave nearly $25,000 to the Anshe Emet synagogue and school [a private school that their children attend], and $15,000 to the foundation run by former president Bill Clinton. It also gave $14,000 to Marwen, a Chicago charity that provides art classes and other educational help to low-income children. Rule is on Marwen's board. He doesn't pay any property taxes and he gets income tax write-offs by donating $25,000 to the Synagogue and other amounts of money to his Foundation. This allows his kids to attend school tuition-free
and allows him to deduct some personal expenses on the house (water bills, gas, electric, insurance, etc.).

Conservative Thought of the Day

"Affirmative action" is the single most horrifying example of what happens when liberal "good intentions" are taken to there evil, destructive extremes. Supposedly, affirmative action was going to to make life in America more just. It did just the opposite by legislating injustice. How "Un-American"!

PLAYING THE RACE CARD

In this day and age of the high-speed internet and instantaneous news from around the world on our T.V.’s and newspapers, you still find people who rely on the time-worn epithet of “racism” to attempt to stifle debate about a whole litany of issues that affect us all, which really shouldn’t have any racial connotation at all.

I’ve heard recently that the reason people are against “Obamacare” is because he is “black” and therefore you must be racist to be against what he is trying to shove down our throats. As a person who fits into the category of opposing the policies of Obama, I must therefore, be a racist, as defined by the zealots who support Obama and drink the Kool-Aid to excess.

Remember, just a short time ago, Professor Gates of Harvard had a run-in with Sergeant Crowley of the Cambridge Police Department. Being a “Black Studies” professor and a racial militant, Professor Gates tried to turn an innocent encounter with the police into a full-fledged racial incident. He accomplished what he set out to do, but in the end it came back to haunt both he and Obama bigtime. The average person saw right through that bogus charge of “racism” and roundly condemned what the Professor and Obama had tried to incite. Remember, the Obama Administration was supposed to usher in an era of “post racial” harmony, but events showed what it really was, “reverse racism” perpetrated by the same people who tended to throw that term out, in the past, to stifle the exchange of ideas in the marketplace of ideas.

The “Rhyming Reverends” of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have been using the “race card” for decades in shaking down businesses and companies all across the country. Whenever they want or need money, they look for instances and happenings that will give them the opportunity to yell racism, whether it is real or not. Of course, they count on the fact that the “white man” has a lot of pent up “white guilt” that has been drilled into his psyche over the years, so he goes along with the “shakedown” because he doesn’t want to labeled a racist. The “race card” was used successfully in those instances.

Well, I for one will not be “tarred and feathered” with that term “racist” when discussing policies I disagree with Obama on. I couldn’t care less if he is black, green, yellow, red or whatever, I don’t want his insane policies to succeed which will bankrupt our economy and lead us into the destructive path of socialism and government control.

So, don’t use the “race card” on me because it shows that the person making that charge probably knows what racism is all about by the way he has conducted his own life in the past. He/she should look in the mirror to see the real “racist”.

Narcissist in Chief

In reference to John Lillipop’s article, “RIP, Obamamania” posted in The Great Canada Free Press.

You hit a homerun with this article about our "Narcissist in Chief", Barack Hussein Obama. His followers are in a hypnotic state and no matter what he says or does, he can do no wrong. He's out there touting a health care bill he knows practically nothing about as it has been drafted solely by the Congress with just minimal input by the leader of the country. On Tuesday, this genius, who's resume could be entitled the "Audacity of Hype", made the following analogy in championing the public option (government option). He said that FedEx and UPS are successful operating against the competition of the U.S Post Office as only the Post Office is having financial problems (what's few billion dollars worth of financial problems?). Now let me get this straight, the private companies are successful and making a profit, but we should model our health care system by referencing the operation of the money losing Post Office as a reason to institute government run health care? And this guy is considered a genius by his Kool-Aid drinking idol worshippers? Yes folks, these are the people in charge of our government. Did you notice that most all the members of his administration are lawyers and not businessmen or doctors? Most of them have never even had the opportunity of running a business, or meeting a payroll or to have to answer to the stockholders, but, mystically, they now can run 1/6 of our economy and cover more people and cut costs at the same time. Yeah sure, and the moon is made out of green cheese! We are in deep doo-doo if we can't stop this insanity before it gets a toe-hold in our country by ruining our economy and free enterprise system.
God help us!

Some Questions

Since it is a rainy day here in St. Pete I thought of some questions that I would love to pose to liberals and Obama-robots.

1. If the health care system in Canada and Britain are so great, why do citizens of those countries come here for operations and medical procedures but no U.S. citizens seem to go to those countries?

2. Sean Penn and the Hollywood elite love Chavez and Castro and have made pilgrimages to Cuba, Venezuela, and other Communist countries praising the system they live under. Why don’t these numb nuts move to those countries to reap all the “benefits” they have to offer?

3. Recently, President Obama said FedEx and UPS “are doing just fine. It’s the Post Office that is having problems.” Since both FedEx and UPS are private companies and the Post Office is part of the government, why does Obama think the government can run health care in the U.S. in an efficient manner? In fact, can anyone think of any government agency or program more efficient than private enterprise?

4. For years all we heard from liberals and the media was about was the “quagmire” of Iraq under Bush. How come there now there is deafening silence about Afghanistan under Obama?

5. Recently, Democratic leaders have been reciting the same litany of phrases to describe any opponent of Obama and/or his health care proposals. The opponents and media have been described as dressed in Brooks Brothers attire, mobs, etc. First, who thinks of these descriptions and how come so many writers and politicians use the same words? Second, why are nicely dressed demonstrators somehow evil but long-haired, slovenly dressed liberals described in such glowing terms?

6. We have been told by Al Gore and his environmental nitwit friends that we have to cut down on carbon admissions caused by driving and flying. Why don’t Gore and his elite friends take public transportation, car pool, take commercial flights, etc. instead of using private aircraft, limos, etc. to get around?

7. Why was it evil for auto manufacturers CEOs to take private aircraft flights to testify in D.C. but it is OK for Empress Pelosi to spend taxpayers money to purchase $200 million for a fleet of Gulfstream private jets so that she, Reid, and her friends can fly to and from D.C.? http://www.usnews.com/blogs/peter-roff/2009/08/06/pelosis-imperial-speakership-gulfstream-jets-for-her-congressional-air-force.html

Conservative Thought of the Day

"Isn't it ironic that the former Chicago "Community Organizer", Barack Hussein Obama, is now considered the "Community Disorganizer" by unleashing his thugs from the SEIU and Acorn to confront the people asking questions about his health care plan at town hall meetings. Is that the "change we can believe in"?

Democrats before Iraq War started....

Liberals have been complaining (and lying) about President Bush for too long. We recently received derogatory remarks because we chose to post comments made by numerous Democrats stating there were WMD in Iraq. A discussion on ousting Saddam Hussein took place with the Clinton Administration in 1998.

So let me write slower for you Liberals to comprehend. Below is a link for a Video with the words coming out of the mouths of Democrats.
