Everything is Beautiful! Obama’s non-recovery

That was the name of the hit song by country singer, Ray Stevens, a few years back, but it seems to have been hijacked by Pres. Barack Hussein Obama during his State of the Union speech before both Houses of Congress. You'd think, by listening to him, that the U.S.A. was in the throes of an economic boom. (this recovery has been the weakest in our country's modern history). He said, “we have turned the page” on our economy during his 6 years in office. That rosy scenario just doesn't meet the “smell test”. In fact, 70% of the people polled think that our economy (and country) is on the wrong track and most think things will get worse before they get better.

Since Obama is the president, most people would think that he would be “transparent” (remember when he used that word when he was first elected?) and honest. Let's see how the figures he based his very rosy economic picture on as he tried to present them at the State of the Union address, compared with the truth.

Did we turn the page, as he said, economically?

First off, tell that to both American Express and E-Bay who have announced thousands of job cuts for the year 2015. He stated during the speech that the U.S. created 3 million jobs, what he didn't say was how many of those were full-time jobs with benefits and how many were part-time jobs? Many people, if they were lucky enough to find full-time work, don't receive any where near the same level of pay or benefits that they once had, due to the paltry economic recovery Obama has presided over for the past six years.

The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics press release, stated that the unemployment rate is 5.6%. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, if you read down to paragraph 18 of that press release – which most people don't go to (including Pres. Obama) – it mentions that hourly wages fell for the month of December by 0.2%. This was the largest drop since 2006. In addition, the “good news”, spouted by Obama, of the 5.6% jobless rate, was that the job participation rate “edged down” by 0.2% to 62.7%, a 36 year low (which means that 37.3% of the work force has quit looking for a job or are working part-time). And, still further down the Labor Dep't. Report, it reported that the U6 rate – the broadest measure of joblessness – remained at 11.2%.

So, Mr. President, where is this great economic recovery you were championing at the State of the Union, and at the various campaign stops you've attended around the country since? Is it just “happy talk” without any meaningful facts to back it up? You could say Mr. President, that no matter how hard you try to spin the facts, you can't polish horse manure, for that is what it is, plain and simple.

No matter how you slice it, when someone goes from making $80 K to making 60 K – cuts in pay upon the new hires are not captured by the Dep't . of Labor statistics - and as you can imagine, it is very hard on the family.

So, it looks like the song by Ray Stevens, “Everything is Beautiful” has been hijacked by Obama in trying to describe his not so bountiful economic recovery, when he should've used the Fats Domino song, “Ain't that a Shame” instead.

Beware of Schmucks

Radical Islam is synonymous with EBOLA, a deadly virus
that must be completely destroyed and not just contained.
It requires strong leadership like Teddy Roosevelt, Harry
Truman or Ronald Reagan; not a Casper Milquetoast like
Jimmy Carter or Barack Obama; the latter admitting he has
no strategy to deal with them, and evidently, no stomach to
do what is required.

We are faced with a race that is a step lower than a dung
beetle or roach, and treating these savages humanely will
only assist them in our demise. You can't win a war by
political correctness, or without profiling.

Their ardent goal is martyrdom and we should oblige them
by hastening this end for them.

A recent YouTube video showed them parading the corpse
of one of their suicide bombers through town, who was
thwarted by a well placed bullet, before he could accomplish
his mission. Ironically, the Yiddish word SCHMUCK,
describes what ensued when they neglected to remove his
suicide vest, that was detonated accidental by a jolt, strewing
 body part all over.

Another schmucky propaganda video distributed to their
sympathizers, as supposedly collateral dead by Israeli
retaliation, were dozens of bodies displayed on the floor,
covered with sheets. Only, these dead bodies had to scratch
their nose, or gasp for a whiff of air from under the sheets in
a hot room, or to sooth a cramp. There was more movement
under those sheets than Beethoven's 9th.

ISIS, ISIL, Hezbollah, Hamas, al Qaeda, Boko Haram, etc., are
not rock bands.

Pants Suit vs. Empty Suit

Forget about the vast right-wing conspiracy, how about the vast left-wing conspiracy between the Obama's and the Clinton's? It has been reported that Obama and his minions were behind the disclosures of Hillary using her private e-mail server as her primary server for both private business and government business, which she was not supposed to do as per agency regulations and protocol.

Supposedly, over 55,000 e-mails were posted and approx. 30,000 were deleted by Hillary (and her chosen flunky's) as being personal in nature. She mentioned at her news conference, that some of those personal e-mails were between her and her husband Bill, but Bill said he doesn't use his e-mails and that he only had two occasions he used them, and that's when he was in the White House, not during his wife's stint at the State Dep.t.. Was Hillary telling a lie to justify her illegal deletions of e-mails? Do you take her at her word, using past practices by her in previous situations, from the time she was First Lady, U.S. Senator, and Sec'y. Of State? Can you trust her to be open and transparent?

Not only did she ignore the rules of her department regarding the use of private e-mails and keeping proper records of government business, she didn't sign the form (the State Dep't. Spokeswoman said they couldn't find a signed copy, how convenient), that was required for certifying that all communications be turned in at the conclusion of her service. The question could be asked, are there different rules for people like Hillary Clinton than for others at a lower level? In fact, someone in the State Dep't. was fired, under the watch of Sec'y. Clinton, for doing the same thing she did. Is there a double-standard when it comes to people like the Clinton's? It will be interesting to see how this whole episode plays out. Will the “Teflon” Clinton's slither away again when it looks like they have been caught red-handed breaking the law?

In addition, during her tenure at State, she was soliciting and collecting donations from various countries for the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, that had business with our country. Some of those countries, who in some cases donated millions of dollars, were countries that have oppressive policies, mainly against women and non-Muslims, which Hillary has been touting as being one of her main concerns as her run-up to the presidential campaign. Those countries included Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc. It could be asked, did any of these countries expect anything of value from the Sec'y. of State as payback for those generous donations? Does this pass the smell test? Should that activity be normal practice for a U.S. Government official as part of their official duties?

It is a we well known fact that the Obama's and the Clinton's are not bosom buddies, so it is not implausible that Obama might be trying to undermine the potential candidacy of Hillary as being the Democrat nominee as president.

So does our headline, “Pants Suit vs. Empty Suit” have some validity? You make the call, but remember, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it must be a duck. That's our take on this whole sleazy situation between the Obama's and the Clinton's. Do you agree?

MORT’s meanderings

An Open Letter to all Militant Islamoids:
It is quite obvious to those who pay attention to these matters, that there is a strong gene of ‘Relentless Stubbornism’ in the DNA of you militant Islamoids.  You’ve been at it a long time, trying to take over the world, since the Seventh Century.  And in all that time, you’ve never been closer to doing it than you are, today.  But, I’ve got some sad news for you.  You ain’t gonna like this one bit.
When you decided to put the USA on your ‘To Do’ list, you made a terribly egregious error.  Y’see, if you had taken the time and the trouble to check into it, you would have discovered that the United States of America (we call it the USA) numbers among its 300+ million people, some of the most irrational, stupid, stubborn and rowdy-assed people ever to populate the face of the Earth.  They ain’t like them guys in Europe.  They’s some really bad dudes.  They eat 72 virgins for breakfast.  And, they can be mighty touchy when it comes to anybody who challenges their love for America.  What I mean is, they kinda go nuts.
They own guns; they shoot guns.  They own Bibles and they’ve read them from cover to cover, time and again.  They love the Stars & Stripes.  They love the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force & Coast Guard. They are all damn good plumbers and electricians.  They are also, deadly shots. Some were born right; some were born wrong and some, were Born Again.   They ride Harleys and they hate the smell of foreign horseshit. And worse for y’all – they don’t cotton to being told what to do and how to do it by a bunch of smelly bullies wearing sheets that don’t know how to treat their women-folk. Plus, these ‘mericans eat lotsa pork & drink alcohol.
So, c’mon – try it.  Go ahead and make the mistake of thinking that just because we  screwed up twice in the case of Barack Hoosein Obama, we can be taken in by your violence & weak-horse-shit.  When your ragheads are chopped off, they’ll roll  just like all the others who’ve tried it since 1776.  You’re ugly but, you ain’t special.

What the U.S. Can Learn from Costa Rica

I just returned from my 12th trip to Costa Rica (mostly for business) and I can see a negative parallel with what is happening in the United States at the present time as compared with the policies of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is a fairly modern democratic country with a third-world mentality, and it seems to be on a course of abject national economic stupidity.

When I first traveled to Costa Rica, 12 years ago, it was with wide-eyed enthusiasm, especially after reading the glowing ads promoting why Americans should choose Costa Rica as a place to retire to. Well, that was 12 years ago, and times have changed for the worse.

No longer is it a haven for retired “Gringo's”, in fact, many of those U.S. ex-expatriates have now begun moving back to the United States. Why, you may ask? Well, to begin with, the cost of living in Costa has doubled during those years. No longer can Costa Rica be considered a pensioners or retired persons “Nirvana”. Food costs have more than doubled in Costa Rica, even more so than in the States, gasoline is more expensive, restaurants rival NYC in the cost of having dinner (which includes a 13% sales tax on every meal), the prices of autos, clothing etc., are generally higher than in the States, and on and on. Being on a fixed income 12 years ago and living comfortably, would not seem to be available for a retired person to hack it in today's time and place in Costa Rica. The ads from 12 years ago about a retired person's paradise seems to have faded into posterity.

In addition, doing business in Costa Rica is an enduring nightmare. The legal system is a bureaucratic maze of laws that are from another day, especially when dealing with the country's lawyers (as many in Costa Rica are called “liars”). If you are an American (or Canadian or European) you have a “target” on your back and you are ripe pickings to be ripped off of money or property, maybe both.

The country is fairly modern (as I stated before) with big beautiful shopping malls, rivaling those in the United States, but in the height of stupidity, they have recently started to charge parking fees to the people who want to spend money and shop in their stores. A big annoyance, to say the least. In addition, the hospitals, which are some of the best in Latin America, also charge for parking. I can't recall any hospitals in the States charging parking fees on people seeking medical services or for visiting patients in the hospital, another major annoyance. By the way, Costa Rica does have excellent medical doctors, hospitals, and dentists, most all of whom were trained in the U.S. or Europe, and the cost of their services are approx. one-half the cost of comparable services in the U.S. One thing that has not suffered, in the country's economic slowdown, is the phenomenon of so-called “medical tourism”, as many people come on down to Costa Rica seeking medical and dental treatments at half the cost as it is in the States. That's the one bright spot in a deteriorating and slowing economy, but during the past couple of years, even those costs are inching up as well.

As with most Latin countries, the crime rate has risen substantially over the past few years as petty thefts, scam operations, and drug use and distribution are major community problems. Visitors are warned not to wear jewelry, or to leave packages on the seat of your car, as it is a temptation that might attract an ever growing criminal element that is now a primary concern of law enforcement, as inefficient as it might be.

As a result of the governments policies over the past 10 years, many companies who built plants in Costa Rica, are now moving their operations to less expensive countries (including Intel and it's 1,500 jobs), like to neighboring Nicaragua, even under the rule of Communist President Daniel Ortega who is openly urging companies to locate in his country. That's how bad it has become in the economic climate in Costa Rica. Also, Costa Rica is no longer a prime vacation spot as was touted to be just a few short years ago. The beautiful resorts on the beach are now charging room rates as high as those charged in Miami Beach during the high season. Mention should also be made that the traffic problem, especially in and around the capitol city of San Jose, is one big traffic jam from 6 AM to 10 AM and from 4 PM to 7 PM. It makes the traffic jams in the U.S. seem almost bearable.

What is happening in Costa Rica can be compared with some of the destructive economic policies now being promoted and implemented in our own country. Our corporate tax rate is the highest in the world, our health care system has been turned on its head with additional oppressive taxes and government bureaucracy stifling business and individual entrepreneurial spirit, and government regulations make starting or expanding a business almost impossible. Companies in the U.S. are also moving their operations to other countries in search of a better economic climate, and with these moves, many jobs and government revenues go with them.

Do we really want to emulate a country committing economic suicide like what Costa Rica seems to be doing? We must get rid of the Marxist/Socialist mindset that takes initiative out of doing business and consequently, life in general. Let's not become another modern country with a third-world mentality, like Costa Rica. Someone should clue in both President Obama and the Democrats. Their policies are what has kept us from reaching our economic potential, even after the so-called recession ended in 2009. Why are they so blind to see the obvious?

Nuclear Controversy

Obama and his Democrats feel Senator Boehner should have gone through
a chain of command by inviting PM Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before a
joint meeting of Congress.

Let me clue these misinformed individuals. The President isn't the
Commander in Chief for the other two branches of government and has
no right to control what they do. All three are responsible to the
people.

Their noses have been bent out of joint because the invitation was to
warn against hidden agreement between this administration and the
mullahs running Iran.

No one has more knowledge about Islamic deception than the Prime
Minister of Israel; and when two liars get together, one being shrewd
and the other lacking experience in all facets of leadership, somebody
has to hold their feet to the fire, regardless of Nancy Pelosi's tears.

What ever agreement might be reached, it must be exposed to the world,
approved and ratified by our congress and the parliaments of any other
signatories who sat in conference.

Any agreement allowing Iran to maintain centrifuges to enrich uranium,
or to not work for elimination of the process is unacceptable. If this
be the case, Iran must be annihilated and their economy destroyed for
the sake of world peace, because it will be impossible to ever be
achieved with a nuclear bomb in the hands of fanatics.

Christianity vs. Islam - Is There a Moral Equivalence?

President Obama took the opportunity at the National Prayer Breakfast recently, to make the "moral equivalence" that Christianity did not have "clean hands" when it came to exacting terrible crimes against humanity during the Crusades, and therefore, we (the American people, founded by Christians,) should get off our "high horse" and not judge others (radical Islam) without judging our past actions as well.

The one big problem with that faulty thinking is that the crimes committed by Christians happened 800 to 1,000 years ago, while the horrible crimes against humanity are being committed by Islamic terrorists today, all around the world. We all admit that excesses by Christians, in medieval times, in trying to turn back the Muslim hordes that conquered vast areas in Europe and the Middle East. Atrocities were committed by both Muslims and Christians during this time in history.

Today, Christianity has evolved and has been modernized in that its sacred scriptures contain no calls for violence against non-believers, and the founder of Christianity, Jesus, already modeled a peaceful way of conducting our lives. Compare that with the Muslim religion (more commonly defined as a theocratic political ideology) which calls for and sanctions brutal retribution against anyone who doesn't follow the tenets of the Koran including, execution of gays, stoning to death of women accused of adultery, cutting off of limbs for those convicted of theft, beheading of innocents, and the killing of any Muslim who leaves the religion, and on and on. On the other hand, Christianity today is a religion of salvation by grace through faith, which itself is a gift of God, according to most Christians.

Can Islam be modernized as has Christianity? It would be very difficult, as the Koran contains numerous verses explicitly calling for violent Jihad against all non-believers. According to the adherents of Islam, the commands in the Koran are the "will" of Allah for all times and places. There seems to be no accommodations with any other religion, so the Jihad continues, as it has continued for over 1,000 years. The ultimate goal of the most ardent Muslims is total world domination, a caliphate, as they refer to it.

Some have claimed that the followers of Mohammad will need to radically re-interpret the texts of the Koran to mean other than what they do say. Where are the "moderate" Muslims? The real question is, are there "moderate" Muslims? Most polls taken in Muslim countries show that an overwhelming majority of the people support the writings in the Koran, so a change will be very difficult to attain in order to bring Islam into the 21st Century and out of the "'Dark Ages".

It is amazing that the groups in the U.S. that make up the "Woman's Liberation Movement", have been very quiet in their condemnation of the Muslim practices against women under Sharia Law around the world. This shouldn't be a left or right issue, and should be condemned by all freedom loving people regardless of political affiliation.

So, the answer to the headline of this editorial is ""NO", there is no moral equivalence between Christianity and Islam. The sacred scriptures of the modernized Christian bible contains no calls for violence against non-believers, and the founder, Jesus, clearly modeled a peaceful way of life without violence. That cannot be said of Islam today.

MORT’s meanderings

Dump John Kerry; make Jane Fonda the nation’s chief diplomatic negotiator.
Americans who use logic every day when making important decisions about their lives, are constantly puzzled as to how Obama arrives at his decisions regarding U. S. foreign policy.  Easy to explain when you consider that Valerie Jarrett is his Chief Advisor.  The priority in this White House is the welfare of the world’s Muslims – first, last and always.  America’s problems and our national security lamely cross the finish line in last place – every time. Guaranteed.
With the well-coiffed but hopelessly delusional John Kerry, who served in Viet Nam for four whole months taking selfies with his video camera, now heading up the Department of State and acting as our top negotiator in an idiotic ‘treaty’ with the thugs who run Iran, we find ourselves on the precipice of committing suicide by beheading ourselves.
Obama’s choice of Kerry to head up the Dept. of State was a bad one. He’s proven to be the wrong woman for the job.  His two most recent predecessors, Madelyn Notso-Bright followed by the Smartest, Most Unaccomplished Woman in the World, the People’s Choice - Hillary, were equally the wrong women for the job.
The obvious choice to head up Obama’s Dept. of State and a woman with a unique qualification as this nation’s foremost female traitor, is Jane Fonda.  She’s a natural fit and she has a well-documented record of directly-related experience when it comes to turning Americans over to the enemy.
Bring Kerry back to serve out this President’s final term in office, as Obama’s personal Czar-in-Residence to the LGBT Community. Talk about a natural fit.
See, toldja - - one doesn’t need to graduate college to be President.

Is the Obama Era the new “Dark Age”?

Never have we seen such an assault against the founding principles as set forth by the framers of our Constitution. The founders, in their great wisdom, set up a system (a democratic republic) of shared powers, made up as the executive, legislative, and judicial. In the last six years we have seen an erosion of those shared powers by an all empowering executive branch and a diminution of the power of the people through their elected representatives in Congress.

Is this unilateral power shift good for the United States? When an executive branch member, the president, can unilaterally set aside laws passed by the Congress and signed by the President, because “he knows better” than we the public (through our elected representatives), you know that “Something is rotten in Denmark” (the definition being that a situation is very wrong and all is not well at the top of the political hierarchy).

Does our “esteemed” President have ESP to be able to determine what is best for the American people all by himself, even though most all polls report that the people (70%) think that our country is on the wrong track, both domestically and foreign policy-wise. Only a narcissist in an empty Armani suit could take that burden upon himself. Could that narcissist be Barack Hussein Obama?

During his six years in office, we've had the slowest recovery from a recession in the history of our country, our credit rating has been reduced for the first time in our history, our debt is now over $18.3 trillion and rising, the U-6 unemployment rate is stagnant at 11.3% (only 62.7% of eligible workers are working at a full-time job), our health care system has been turned on its head and approx. 60% of the people say it (Obamacare) should be changed or scrapped altogether, our foreign policies are laughed at around the world and Muslim terrorism has increased substantially (especially in the Western countries and in our own), and “lying” has become the national pastime in Wash. D.C. (especially among the Democrats), and on and on.

Pronouncements by Obama, when he was first sworn into office, proclaimed that his Administration would be the most transparent administration in history, well, how has that turned out? The scandals surrounding the Obama Administration have been prevalent throughout his reign, such as, Fast and Furious, the wasteful Stimulus package (when shovel ready jobs weren't shovel ready), the harassing of conservative groups seeking a 501-C3 tax designation status by the I.R.S. for political purposes, the spying on fellow Americans and journalists by the NSA, the favorable waivers given to political donors and supporters of Obama and the Democrats after “Obamacare” was passed, the promoting of a phony video scenario about the murders of four Americans in Benghazi (one being our Ambassador to Libya) etc., etc. It seems that every other week a new scandal arises to overshadow the other previous scandals. Where's the transparency?

As our Constitution guarantees “Freedom of Speech”, if you criticize or question the policies of Obama, you are called names and epithets, especially including the dreaded word “racist”. It seems that his race trumps any and all criticism.

I'm sure that when history is written in the future, Obama and his Administration will be shown to be a throwback to those days once called the “Dark Ages”, even though we are in an enlightened technological age.
