As much as I abhor the rhetoric of liberal talk show host Bill Maher, he came out with a prescient comment the other day, asking if there is a “gay mafia”? Whether he meant it as a biting comment or not, but just by observing the militant gay community in action, you could justifiably equate them with a form of the actions of the notorious Italian mafia.
Tolerance, which the gay community has been incessantly asking for, for years, has become very intolerant of anybody who doesn’t agree with their gay oriented agenda. Just recently, Mozilla CEO, Brendan Eich, was “forced” to resign because he donated to a group supporting Proposition 8 in California in 2008, which was campaigning against same sex marriage. The voters in liberal California passed the anti-gay marriage proposition by a 53% majority . In fact, at that time, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, both candidates for president, were against gay marriage (they both have flip-flopped on the issue since, mainly for political purposes), so Brendan Eich was in the mainstream of thought on the subject of gay marriage. Ironically, some judge a few years later overturned the will of the people and declared the duly passed proposition unconstitutional. Eich gave a total of $1,000 to the supporters of an anti-gay marriage organization, and for that, he was asked (forced) to resign from the company six years later. Did he do anything wrong in exercising his 1st Amendment right of free speech? Is this America, or the former Soviet Union? Sometimes you have to wonder.
God forbid, you make any comment which doesn’t jibe with the policies of the gay community, you might just get “whacked” (not physically, but verbally vilified by the media and other “politically correct” loons who champion the gay agenda), and be branded a bigot, a homophobe or worse.
Boycotts (remember the Chick fil-A controversy a couple of years ago?), demands for firings and resignations, and sometimes even violent or disruptive protests, not directed at gays, but directed against others who disagree with their gay policies, seem to be normal practice today by these militant gays.
Tammy Bruce, an openly gay conservative talk show host, calls this “induced” resignation a result of the “gay Gestapo”, and she is disgusted by their actions. It’s like you must toe the line or feel the wrath of these “intolerant” gays whenever a person strays off that line.
When does this intolerance for diverse opinion end, and when will the really tolerant gay community come into play to counter this outrage, and tell their gay friends to practice what they preach? Is there a double-standard in the media, academia, and in the halls of Congress, when it comes to opinion that goes against the prevailing “politically correct” orthodoxy of diversity, inclusion, and fairness? As some have said, if liberals (a/k/a Progressives, including gay activists) didn’t have double-standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all. It looks like the “gay mafia” is alive and well in the good ole U.S.A.

Our imperial President is on a trip to Asia. While in Japan Obama dined at a famed sushi restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro. A special sushi course was served - at $300 a person - that featured Pacific bluefin tuna. The special dinner serves about a dozen courses that is served in about 20 minutes. After dining at the restaurant, Obama told reporters that "That's some good sushi right there." Ambassador Caroline Kennedy and national security adviser Susan Rice joined Obama.
One problem is that the tuna that Obama enjoyed is on the endangered species list. Overfishing has resulted in a 96% drop in the species population. Business Insider, who reported the story today, asked for comments from the White House - but so far, no calls have been returned.
The real question is, will the mainstream media cover this story? If a conservative Republican ate at such a restaurant and dined on anything considered endangered, the headlines would be screaming. The environmentalists would be picketing and screaming. PETA would announce a boycott. Will the NY Times, NBC, or other media cover it? Stay tuned.

How many times have you heard that expression, “I’m entitled”, especially from the self-appointed advocates of the poor, sometimes called the “poverty pimps” (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson etc., etc.)? For whatever “sins”, we as a country have committed in the past, these “entitlement advocates” use those perceived “sins”, of our forefathers, to arouse the “low information” voters and citizens to have them demand that they are due something from the government, most likely in the form of a government handout, as reparations. If you argue against that, you are then vilified as being a bigot, a racist, and a person without compassion (among other epithets). That’s what the left-wing liberals (mostly Democrats) call Republicans, Conservatives, and Tea Party supporters, led by leaders like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Black Caucus.
Well, look around us today, we have approx. 47 million people getting food stamps (up 40% in the last 5 years), our poverty rate is approx. 50 million, we have able-bodied people getting subsidized housing (Section 8 housing), free cell phones, reduced college tuition, home mortgages with little or no down payment etc., etc. In many cases, it doesn’t pay for the people receiving these “freebies” to get off their butts to find a job or to contribute something (or anything) to our society. They are the “takers”, not the “makers”, and they are a financial burden on all of us taxpayers, and to the country as a whole.
In fact, 33 states and the District of Columbia pay welfare benefits over and above the prevailing minimum wage in their states. Number 1 on the list is the State of Hawaii, where a person on “welfare” can receive approx. $60,600 (or $29.13 per hour) in benefits (yes, the cost of living in Hawaii is the highest in the U.S., but isn’t $29.13 per hour just a little outrageous?). Following right behind Hawaii is the District of Columbia ($50,800), Massachusetts ($50,500), Connecticut ($44,400), New York ($43,700), New Jersey ($43,400), all the way down to number 34, So. Carolina ($21,900). The other 17 states have welfare benefits below what a welfare recipient can receive by working at the minimum wage. Isn’t this government largesse a disincentive to go out and work on a job and to be a productive citizen? By the way, most of those 33 states (and the District of Columbia) are “Blue states”, governed by Democrats, either by their governor or their state legislatures. A very poignant comment about getting government handouts instead of working, was stated in an op-ed editorial in the Daily Oklahoman back in 1951 by a Elmer T. Peterson. This prescient observation really has meaning, even to this day.
He said; “A democracy can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largesse out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship and then a monarchy”. Is some of what he said happening in our country today? Has our “entitlements” society gotten out of control? Is the phrase, “I’m Entitled” become the rule rather than the exception? Do politicians pander to those people who receive government handouts (which also include those government workers who rely on politicians to keep and expand their jobs) in order to get their votes, come election time? Your answer should be the same as if you asked someone if the Pope is Catholic (of course). We are slowly morphing into a semblance of modern day Europe, we might become what some might call the United States of Europe. Hello, Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal, move over, here we come. May God bless America!

I've been hearing disturbing threats from so called conservatives. It has been spurred by the
possibility Governor Chris Christie will vie to be the Republican candidate for the presidency
If the Republican party picks a moderate leaning candidate, the hard right warns they will stay
home and not vote. It is extreme and may I remind them, look what their smart ass decision
got them in 2008 and 2012.
Bending with the wind verifies the law of physics, too much rigidity can cause structural damage,
as was the case then. They wanted Pit Bulls, not Labrador Retrievers. The Governor can be both.
As an independent, I plan to back whom ever Republicans choose, in order to stop the catastrophic
governance from the left, sending a warning to them to heed Einstein's definition of insanity.
Staying home contributed to the election of the bender of truth we are now stuck with. Not smart!
Forfeiting your vote is a vote for a far left liberal Democrat. Voting for a libertarian is also throwing
your vote away, because that usually favors the Democrat candidate.
Extremism is never good for the country and in order to get your foot in the door, compromise is
not a dirty word. You can't make changes to restore America if you're vulnerable to vetoes.
Sometimes medicine doesn't taste so good but necessary, to take for the cure.

The chickens have come home to roost for those who now sadly realize they opened
PANDORA'S BOX of ills, instead of the marvelous things President Obama promised
would turn America into Utopia if elected. Two elections later sees the country in disarray,
devastating future generations' liability.
By tripping the lid open, it released his hope and change that has led to high unemployment,
ballooning entitlements, astronomical debt in the trillions, collapsed real estate market,
dangerously naive foreign policies and scandals galore.....Solyndra, NSA, IRS, Fast And
Furious, Benghazi and glitches trying to implement OBAMA-SCARE that will strangle our
All the King's horses and all the King's men will not be able to put the country together again,
until 2014 and 2016, if enough votes can be garnered from all parties, to put the country's ills
back into OBAMA'S BOX!

To listen to the Democrats, you’d think that they have a means to change the climate, both here in the U.S. and around the world, whether it needs change or not. (Might they not be carrying Obama’s slogan of “Hope and Change” a little to far?). In fact , they spent all night just recently in Congress bloviating about how “man” has caused the non-existent phenomenon of “global warming” (a/k/a climate change). According to them 98% of “all” scientists have determined that it is man who caused this global warming that is threatening nobody. Where they got that number (98%) is a mystery? It looks as if one of their colleagues bent over and they pulled that figure out of his/her butt.
No mention was made on the floor of Congress regarding the 2007 report of the Global Warming Project (a/k/a the Oregon Petition), urging politicians to reject any policies based on concerns over global warming. The petition had over 31,000 signatories of scientists with over 9,000 of that number being PhD.’s. So to refute those learned Congressmen, and acolytes of Al Gore, you could come to the conclusion that there is no “settled science” regarding man-made global warming.
The claim by most “global warming” advocates, is that excessive amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere causes “global warming”. A closer look at carbon dioxide is that instead of being a “pollutant”, it is actually plant and tree food. That’s right, plant and tree food. We all learned in elementary school that we humans breathe out carbon dioxide and the plants and trees breathe it in as food, and then convert that to oxygen which we humans breathe in for sustenance. Could it be that this “evil” gas, which is inundating our planet is actually producing plants and trees that are getting bigger and stronger, and as a result are sending out more (Co2) oxygen in the atmosphere? So, instead of being a detriment to our society, it is actually a major benefit to our society.
But you might ask, who am I to rebuff the acolytes of Al Gore (and Bill Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama I might add) and the Democrats in Congress, who seem to know everything there is to know about “global warming”? But then again, don’t just take my word for it, ask the following experts: Dr. Timothy Ball, environmental consultant and former professor of meteorology at the Univ. Of Winnipeg; Dr. Richard Lindzen, meteorologist and Alfred P. Sloan professor of meteorology and climatology at M.I.T; and John Coleman, meteorologist and founder of the “Weather Channel”, who has called man-made global warming “the biggest scientific scam in history”. They are all “global warming” deniers.
So, the answer to the headline of this piece is “NO”, you can’t change “Mother Nature”, no matter how hard you try. It is beyond the mortal human being to change something which he has no control of - no matter what the omniscient Democrats say are the facts. My advice to them is to go back to the library and brush up on their ignorance.

Principled Members of Congress:
Where the Hell are you?
Am I the only one in America who is totally outraged at this President-Gone-Wild who is giving away our possessions and assets, none of which belong to him and none of which he has any right to be giving away - particularly to our arch enemies that have sworn to kill us? This is sheer lunacy!
Alaskan islands, control of the internet, military hardware, national security secrets? It is obvious that Obama intends to bring the USA to its knees by opening wide, the doors to all our secrets and tangible assets - come one, come all - no charge. We're all wrong; the thug nations of the world are all right. How senseless can it get?
Isn't there one man among you in the Congress of the United States, who will stand up and scream about this awful, unconscionable behavior by this nation's traitorous president?
No candidate for the Congress in the upcoming mid-term election should be considered by the voters, if he or she hasn't taken action or at least, taken a strong stand against Obama's ruinous give-away policies.
It takes real courage to take a stand in opposition to a sitting president, even a lame duck president but, how can any candidate in good conscious, fail to do so on this critical issue at this critical time?

Arab League vows to never recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
Well, la-de-da. Who gives a damn? As if anyone could believe that such recognition even if it were declared, was anything but a political ploy to gain advantage in a sham negotiation - with never any intention of actually recognizing Israel's right to exist. Look up the Islamist term, 'taqiyya'.
More to the point, Israel should declare that the true descendants of pigs and apes, meaning the blood-thirsty maniacs of the Islamic Arab states in the Middle East, should never be recognized as belonging to the civilized human race. And further, that they should be driven back into the barren deserts of the Arabian peninsula to roam for the next millennium with only their smelly camels, scorpions and their own lunacy for company.
One cannot deal rationally with irrational people. And, there are no more irrational people than the radical followers of Islam. To expect anything other than the deceit and violent behavior that Israel's neighbors have displayed since Israel became a sovereign state in 1948, is to fool oneself into unrealistic expectations. The thousands upon thousands of rockets and missiles lobbed into Israel by the Taliban, Hamas and the other 'peace-loving peoples of Islam', attest to their sincere desire to get along like good neighbors. Wishful thinking that this mentality will change, is suicidal.

Some people have accused President Obama of being “all talk and no action”. Is that a fair observation of how he operates? As Alfred E. Smith, former Governor of N.Y. and Democratic presidential candidate in 1928 once said, “Let’s look at the record”.
When Obama took office, the world was in a precarious state of turmoil, with wars in Iraq and Afghanistan going on, a smoldering conflict continuing between Israel and the Palestinians, and the reemergence of saber rattling by the Russians and North Korea. The words that Obama spouted during the campaign was one of awareness and a promise of the U.S. defending the rights of oppressed people. It all sounded good as he was even more “conservative” than his opponent, John McCain on many issues.
Well, that was then, but what has happened since he took office? The first thing he did was to embark on an “apology tour” around the world with major apologies to the Muslim world for “sins” that he conjured up in his own mind that the U.S committed in the past. From then on, it seems that it has been downhill ever since. The war in Iraq wound down with our troops being withdrawn completely without an agreement with the Iraqi government to maintain a stabilizing force to help avoid a chaotic situation. But, as was predicted by many knowledgeable retired military personnel, the situation in Iraq has deteriorated into secular conflict and violence with hints that the Iraqi government has been playing “footsie” with Iran, which is something we especially don’t need right now. Afghanistan is following along the same path as Obama has failed to negotiate a strategic withdrawal with some U.S. military left to help the Afghani government make an orderly transition to self rule.
The bluster Obama showed in in overthrowing Khadafy in Libya, was over shadowed by the disaster in Benghazi. False statements by both Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and other administration officials like Susan Rice, added to the chaos.
Also, the initial backing of Mohamed Morsi in Egypt has backfired as Morsi has been overthrown by the Egyptian military and the Muslim Brotherhood opposition.
The biggest bluff and bluster that has come back to bite Obama in the Middle East was his “red line” pronouncement on Syria and its use of chemical weapons against its population. Obama warned Bashar al-Assad that there would be consequences if he used them - well, he did and Obama backed down making Obama look like a paper tiger, again.
As chaotic as the Middle East has become since Obama took office, the situation in the Ukraine has the possibility of getting the Russians and the West involved in a potential widening conflict.
Awhile back, I wrote a column on the Obama foreign policy doctrine which I labeled, “Speak Loudly and Carry a Feather Duster”. It looks like my evaluation was right on the money.
The U.S. is no longer looked upon with fear and respect around the world, as Obama is perceived as a leader who has personified as being all “bluff and bluster”. Let’s just hope we, as a nation, can survive the incompetence of the Obama Administration.

After all the scandalous events and incidents, it wouldn't be a
stretch to suspect the White House issued a directive to the
shutdown enforcers, to make it as unpleasantly hard and
inconvenient for the public until it hurts. Then contact their
media friends to demonize Republicans and Tea Party so as
to make it look like they are the heavies and small government
The GOP will lose this battle for the people if they don't get
their act together and quit fighting among themselves. "If a
house is divided against itself, that house will not be able

Explaining this administration's economic posture and increasing
the debt ceiling in simple terms; it is like going to the boss
and demanding he give you a raise, because you bought a bunch
of stuff that maxed out your credit card, and you just got your
statement to pay it off by the 17th, or the electricity will
be turned off, your automobile will be repossessed, phone
service shut out along with cable and Internet connection;
also facing eviction.
With a temporary fix put in by the clowns in Washington to meet
our obligations, they gave the head Bozzo time to tend to other
spending projects such as immigration reform that if done his
way, will increase government assistance by any where from ten
to thirty million more democrat voters on the dole. In order to
be able to give you a raise, the boss has to increase the price
of doing business to cover it.
Guess who always gets stuck with the bill in the end?
